It's a fucking tablet app compared to HOI3 and DH. They completely fucked everything great about that game. It's basically "double click your objective" AI wins the war for you. You don't have to fucking do anything. Yeah the micro-management and learning curve were a bit insane in HOI3, but they went way too far on the streamlining in HOI4. It's basically EU4 except with less time and less diplomatic options. Instead of epic struggle to save the white race it's just a fucking empty boring husk that feels like a chore more than anything to play.
So pissed I spent good money on it, I was so sure the early detractors were just memeing about how dumb-downed it is. If anything they downplayed it.

There's nothing really /pol/ about it. It is a great game though and is far and away better than anything else in it's category. Only issue I have with it is the public servers suck, if you aren't in a unit you will have no fun.

It's the ultimate wargame. Probably the closet thing you can get to simulating WW2 with it still being somewhat fun. Surprisingly worth it at the high price
Only downside is its complicated as fuck. I've played about 70hrs and still have no idea if what I'm doing is fully optimal. I can win the war occasionally but failed nearly every time for the first 55hrs or so do to the sheer complexity and foresight required
This is all by the Germans by the way. Haven't tried the Soviets yet
