I think a lot of people have done questionable things to get rich, but I wouldn't say that they are evil. I would say a good amount of them feel that they are better than poor people though.

Well they exploit their workers to create a massive amount of wealth for themselves while at the same time doing everything they can to not pay taxes to make life a little easier for the people on the bottom. Oh they also lobby the government to protect their wealth and buy off politicians.
The rich need you but you don't need them. Kill them and eat their flesh.
Getting rich requires you to step on those who let you step on them.

It takes a certain degree of moral corruption to pursue riches beyond mere need.
Being rich doesn't make a person evil. It does, however, make it easier for evil people to do evil (and for good people to do good).
People rarely change when they come into great wealth. It usually amplifies all the personality traits they had before they had so much power.

That being said, there is something savage about certain types of wealthy people. Materialistic people who devote their time, energy, and intellect to amassing wealth for the sake of wealth.
Bill Gates may be misguided in his attempt to uplift poor people around the world, but there is a humanity in his efforts.
