Now I go to a central Texas school, finishing up my bachelors in Accounting and then my CPA will follow. I have asked many people the following question, "what are these ghetto blacks majoring in?". They will usually tell me they are typically business majors, but when i took my general business courses it was mainly just chads and stacys in my classes...hardly any (ghetto) blacks to be seen. Once i got into my upper level Accounting courses, there were absolutely no blacks, ghetto or civilized.

A lot skip classes or fuck around. Blacks also tend to major in history/education, partly from cultural history and partly from lack of foresight on their part. Race relations/civil rights/history plays a huge part in their upbringing, so they usually major in that shit. I think they expect to go into civil rights organizations with that background, but they mostly end up as secretaries/assistants and shit like that because the degree has no solid applicability aside from continuing on to, say, law/grad school and academia. Maybe politics, but it's difficult to get into politics.
It's rare they don't major in hard STEM or applied/career based fields. It's partly why the cycle of poverty continues, because they don't develop solid careers with immense income.

As a black man I agree that college wasn't for me. Formal school settings that require me to listen to a teacher speak for a hour and a half proved to be overwhelmingly boring. Then being expected to go home and read 30 pages of a textbook that I didn't really want to read. I need consistent stimulation, direct engagement, hands-on experience. More importantly, I need to learn at my own pace, which seems to alternate from not-moving-at-all to turbo mode. Basically, school is boring as fuck, I didn't belong there. I didn't really want to be there, it was just that thing I was supposed to do. I ultimately didn't need it and I'm glad I called it before going into debt trying to get a BS in comp sci or some shit.

English Literature and creative writing major here (useless I know), in the lower level classes there tend to be a great deal of them. In the upper level English courses there are only a few. Most tend to skip class/not do homework. They usually ask for extra credit everyday. They also usually remain silent during class discussion unless they hear the word "race," "black," "inequality," etc. Then they become experts in whatever topic we're talking about. I'll tell ya, fellas. Being a white, ultra-conservative in the English field is rough. I strive daily not to reveal my power levels because I don't want to fail my courses. I plan on getting my PhD in Education, serving on a board of education, maybe get elected to some sort of national education position. I plan to secretly redpill my students.
The one's here on sports scholarships do sports management or whatever shit where they end up being a janitor in a stadium when they dont go pro.

I got over it one day- I'd say absorbing a daily dose of it, along with some introspection and critical thinking skills/a chance to spin several perspectives through several lenses bolstered my psychological state of mind, and my self esteem. "Nigger" makes me laugh now... especially because it's usually followed by spittle and spastic twitches.
I suppose it's just one great big psychosocial hurdle that may or may not be that which all people manage to flop over. Words are... words. What matters is whether you start swinging fists or firing bullets at me.
