Fascism combats ... not intelligence, but intellectualism... which is... a sickness of the intellect... not a consequence of its abuse, because the intellect cannot be used too much... it derives from the false belief that one can segregate oneself from life.

It is not in the interests of democratic powers to have a well-educted populace. It makes it that much harder to acquire and maintain power if the people are well-informed and less likely to leap to emotion and demagoguery as the basis for their choices.

Successive governments will, over time, erode the education systems they are tasked with managing.

It's inevitable.

People who didn't get a degree have revenues and living conditions which decrease multiculti dystopia.

It's actually not. Having a degree in gender studies or sociology do not automatically make you intellectual anymore.

Nor does having a degree in business (where they learn about how to make quick profit).

At least not on the matter of how the world should proceed.

"There are some ideas so absurd that only an intellectual could believe them.” - George Orwell

"intellect is not wisdom" - Black Economics guy

Vast majority of intellectuals supported communism, socialism and marxist ideas in general, look where that went.

Intellectuals are ideas machines - thats all they are. They have very little practical experience of reality

Thats why teachers are often lefties - and their students are too until they have been working for a few years.

Are you fucking serious?

Studying gender issues, feminism, muslims being peaceful, blacks and women creating all civilisations, and 7 gorillion genders, is not intellectualism.

It's literally 1984 styled subjects that create, change, mind poison, scrap, and continue with more radical lies.

Unless people are going to university to study to be the likes of a lawyer, doctor, engineer or scientist etc, then they're not a ''student'', but rather someone doing an autistic hobby that's pointless, boring and gets you nowhere in life.

Meanwhile, there are qualified electricians, carpenters, plumbers, and self made businessmen who didn't go to any university, but are a lote more intelligent and contribute a thousand times more to society than some young bitch/nu-male who's unemployed, sits in a flatmates house all day eating shit food and writing on feminist blogs.

This as well. Thank you, refreshing to see a non-cucked German poster after several days of anti-Brexit shilling from you guys. Modern liberals are completely out of touch and are mostly middle class faggots who know nothing of the struggle of the working class, instead condescending to those old style Labour supporters and accusing them of being privileged even when the history of the underclass in England is fucking full of exploitation, anguish and suffering.

The actual, old voter base of the British left wing all fucking voted OUT because they're sick of this shit.

>all fascism is right wing

when will people realise this is absolutely fucking wrong and relies on emotional logic to enforce?

The hard left use this as shield so they can go and behave like animals and berate people in public for their political opinions like fucking actual nazis, beat people up in public, seek to destroy their lives by getting them fired, trashing suspected ' fascists' homes and cars.

These people have an emotional opinion, which is:

>The right wing can only be fascist, the left wing is the only moral choice

ignoring the fact that they are using this as an excuse to absolve themselves from behaving like the 'right wing' football hooligans they claim to despise.

>We are always right, you are always wrong

and they call the right wing the nazis? I simply dont get it, they did the same things you are doing, and working against the same democratic institutions they were working against:

>Refusing to give the vote to anyone they consider undesirable or have a viewpoint hostile to theirs

>Calling for the overturn of democratic decisions to suit certain members of society

>Allowing 16 year olds to vote in the anchluss

>Special 'tests' to make sure people know the 'facts' surroung the matter in order to vote

you fucks are literally becoming the left wing version of what you despise: le Nazis.

Enjoy your full circle you emotional children.

And maybe if these "intellectuals" actually voted in large numbers they would get the result they wanted, but they didn't.

They're right, they don't deserve the result they got, they deserve all the USSR-style hell on earth that all of their stupid trendy asses advocate. Their just lucky.

reminder that so far "expert" polling agencies have been wrong resulting in "expert" investors to dump a large amount of money assuming that britain would remain in the eu thus causing the pound to tank more so than the actual result of the referendum itself

also reminder that a degree in women's studies and communications at best puts you on equal footing with everyone else in the country in terms of ability to make good decisions (although these people spent >40k on a useless degree so probably not)

intellectualism is an ideology, it's associating yourself with the right brands, the right websites, the right news sources etc

what we describe as "intellectualism" objectively has nothing to do with actually being intelligent, it's a prepackaged set of easy to hold ideas that serve the function of making you feel superior to others

Well it's democracy. Not leftist utopia that some want it to be. So you either get leftist utopia with only highly educated middle or upper-middle class people that are not taking religion too seriously. So their cultural inheritance wouldn't matter that much. You just have to fucking cull over 80% of population that are running the country. Because working class has monocultural communities that usually enforce unity and keeps the overall peace better that way. Then the idealist cunts say they have to live with people that shit on pretty much every value they have. In this case the people are less educated. That is also leftists fault for making media such a bullshit machine that you can't trust anything.

>tfw you created the education system
>tfw you tried to make them hate themselves for being born without silver spoon up their ass
>tfw you demand that they put up your bullshit and live in peace with people that hate their guts and want to kill them if they could
You might as well cull the leaders that are fault of all this shit.

They will find a way even through recession. They always fucking do. You take a setback in economy always as a wrong answer you fucking Jew. Even if it's to make other things to work better.

Naturally, immigration makes your gdp go up because young unskilled workers pay taxes.
It also lowers costs of luxuries because businesses can charge less thanks to immigrants lower wages.
However, when gdp goes up, that doesn't mean it comes up for everyone. Immigration is good for rich people to hire unskilled workers at wages and conditions most most people wouldn't normally accept. The increased competition for jobs means that wages go down for unskilled (no college degree) workers.

So your wealthy college graduate sees no problem with immigration because his costs will go down and his retirement benefits well go up.

Your poor hard working individual see a problem because his jobs will disappear and his wages will go down and he c will have less negotiating power with his employer because he is replaceable with immigrate labor.

Why do you hate the poor op?

Unless you come into a debate with a fuckton of sources from reputable peer reviewed journals, no.

If you have an Engineering degree and you wish to educate me on (for example) the basic mechanics of rope suspended bridges, sure, go ahead you're more educated. You're not educated on trade deals or international politics however. You're a layperson in that regard.

Education is either STEM or some meme sociology bullshit. So its indoctrination, completely irrelevant to the subject at hand or both.

The NEET's usually have a better understanding of what is going on then the career workers. The rest just listens to their (((professors))) or read half an hour of (((mainstream))) media per day and then they spend the rest of the day working, browsing approved content on their facebook, watching some stupid tv show etc. You basically can't have high paying career, a family, a active social life and stay updated all at the same time. Unless your career revolves around working in the media (if its MSM you can't write about what you know) or trading you can basically give up on trying to understand things.

The amount of bullshit that my ''highly educated'' and high earning ''friends'' spout is staggering.

If there's one entity that is at the brick of causing a war it is the European union.

The debt crisis managed to create hate between southerners and northerners.

The migrant crisis managed to create hate between the easterners and westerners and destabilize everything.

Its will only get worse when the crisis gets worse.

Its forcing countries with entirely different philosophies and cultures to do decisions together.

The funny thing is, this is starting to happen with degree holders too. China and india are churning out degree holders at an impressive rate. This is part of the reason as to why the middle classes are dissapearing. In London, many doctors are Indian/Pakistani/Easter European, they obviously accept lower wages and worse working conditions than their white peers who know exactly what conditions a doctor should work in. Its fucking our NHS right up.

Old people borrowed all the money and expect us young people to pay it back.

And once it becomes obvious that we can't pay it back if we are making half as much as they used to for the same job, they'll push us to war and as the war is lost they will starve our sisters and the old men who borrowed money in our name, will be using that money to buy sex from our starving sisters while we are dying in a pointless war likely against Russia.

The banning of topics and texts on the grounds of offense is anti-intellectualism. This situation (down to it being minority groups) was predicted in Fahrenheit 451, which, ironically, saw numerous attempts to censor this section out. Refusal to discuss something on the grounds that it offends is refusal of objectivity. It inherently opposes it by being subjected to the persons emotions and the topic dropped. This is the most (the refusal of objectivity for relativity) anti-intellectual mindset that has swept through Academia and poisoned the intelligentsia. This is aided by the focus on the degree rather than the education. The finish as opposed to the journey, which is inherently unending.

That is to say; Self-appointed "intellectuals" have forgotten that in education, instruction is not intelligence. It is instruction.
If the student cannot apply this instruction outside of the ways they have been instructed to than education has failed.
>>

Oh yeah. All those people with their exceptionally specific degrees (most of which won't even glance upon the notion of economics or politics) voted remain. Meanwhile, the elderly who lived in England before the vote to join the EU, and then during the entire duration of the EU, now vote to leave because they see how it has changed.
Education =/= Intelligence.

Quoting the echo chamber of higher education more indicative of indoctrination not education.

Your "4-year intellectuals" are much more prone to believe propaganda and not think for themselves.
>>
>>78914618
Having a college degree does not make you an intellectual.

Intelligence is a result of strong memory retention, and, with minor variation like degree choice and time spent at college, most college graduates forget almost all of the information they learned in college, something like 90% after the first two years according to a study published by the University Medical Center in Utrecht. This is true for almost all associate's degree holders, most bachelor degrees, a large chunk of master's and a significant part of doctorates.

People who are successful at finding a job in their field rely on a very minor amount of information they learned in college, especially if they are 2-year or 4-year degree holders. According to a survey conducted by Dr. Patricia Breivik, published in Change Magazine, approximately 74% of bachelor degree holders in their respective fields responded negatively to the question of "Do you use most of the knowledge you gained from college in your job or profession?"

What is the cause? Before the late 20th and early 21st century, participation in college was limited to a select few intellectuals. Before the advent of Google and television, research and knowledge was conducted at libraries and by reading books, and neurological studies show that touch and smell (of books) are the most significant way to retain memory long-term, due to the triggering of dopamine.

My master's thesis at the University of Illinois-Chicago was on this very subject. Sorry for the long post.

Of course it's real. Big business has been attacking education for decades, and they're winning. Just look at America. The candidates of the Republican Party uniformly deny climate change as though it's some liberal conspiracy, despite the fact that the only scientists who claim to be skeptical of it work for think tanks which are effectively propaganda machines. The scientific community that hasn't sold out, the majority, right-wingers and left-wingers alike, are as close to certain as can be about climate change -- it's real -- and yet deniers in the US choose to believe bloggers and media personalities who only cite shills as their evidence against climate change. If you haven't dedicated your life to studying the climate and environment, don't you think it's a better idea you put your trust in those who have, rather than in "scholars" who work at think tanks funded by the Koch brothers (who stand to lose a lot of money if serious measures are taken to slow down climate change)?

As you touch your breasts, imagine or visualize your fingertips emitting healing pink sparkles that embrace and nourish your breasts.Let your fingerpads sink deeply into your breasts. Allow any held distress to be soothed by the balm of the infused herbal oil/ointment. Let overactive energy be calmed by the rhythm of your fingers circling, circling, spiraling, spiraling.
Apply more oil or ointment with your fingerpads, making large gliding circles from midchest to under your breast, up toward the armpit and over and around, again, and again, with a steady rhythm.
When you’re done massaging your breast, close your eyes and relax. Hum. Call to your Wise Healer Within as you hum.
Massage your other breast, starting from the beginning: Put your hands over your heart. Hum. Cup your breasts. Hum. (Is there a difference between the breast that has already been massaged and the one that hasn’t yet?) Rub your oily hands briskly together; hold either side of your breast and hum. Extend your thumbs and massage as before, including all of the previous strokes and ending with your eyes closed, relaxing deeply and allowing yourself to contact and listen to your Wise Healer Within.
Afterwards . . .After your breast self massage, take a moment to record your experience. This will help you learn more quickly what’s normal for you. You can draw a map of your breasts to help you remember what you’ve felt. Try using colors. Write down any messages offered to you by your breasts or your Wise Healer Within. If you like, make up a little song to hum during your massage. The keynote in breast self-massage is pleasure.

He's probably the most well-known academic I'm aware of who publicly supported Brexit, but unfortunately I do also think he's a bit of an arrogant contrarian who likes to take oppositional stances purely for the sake of it, so I don't know how correct he is. What 'Liberal' ideas can you find in Marxist writing (i.e the works of Marx and Engels), and how can you prove that these ideas have not simply been appropriated by "Liberals" if they do indeed exist?

Make no mistake, orthodox Marxists are not "liberals", despite what /pol/ leads you to believe.

I presume also that unqualified students of colour being equal opportunitied in and universities losing funding if too many of them drop out may have something to do with it as well

I guess that prepares them for being equal opportunities hires in the private sector...

Mature age student here too.

Yes this checks out, students that are there "just cause I guess" are less likely to be critical and are used to the authority figures from highschool telling them what to think.

>Make no mistake, orthodox Marxists are not "liberals", despite what /pol/ leads you to believe.

No shit Britain, but you just don't get it: Marxist ideals have created an entirely new class of bourgeois that consider themselves both Marxists and Egalitarian. It's quite literally inescapable and no amount of "True Marxism" will ever rectify this.
>>
>>78919060
>they don't like to call themselves Marxists for some reason

It's because Marxism and liberalism contradict each other. To the Marxist, liberals are either centrists or slightly right of center.

Really makes you think, it really does. So much so it got me thinking. What is intellectualism? What does it encompass? What makes you an intellectual, how do you use intellect, how does one become an anti intellectual?

Absolutely correct post

They won't bend on anything to fit the narrative, and the sad truth of it is, our 'Hatespeech' and 'totally bigoted' ways with racism and fascism isn't going to be what breaks them in the end. It's going to be from themselves refusing to admit they were wrong in order to fit the narrative.

They are their greatest enemy

When will you people understand that the word "liberalism" has been taken away from you? It no longer has anything to do with liberty.

You are talking to people who have probably never read a book.

America is full of demagogues who have no fucking clue what they are talking about. They will call Hitler a Marxist.

And they get away with it, because in America it's more important to say something with confidence than something that has anything to do with reality.

Not only do you conveniently divide the complex political spectrum into cleanly cut groups that are easier to bitch about, but you base your entire post on unfounded assumptions that all members of one conveniently described group act exactly like a very nasty and vaguely related group. To cap this, you act as if "emotional logic" is the only strategy employed by said group, and that it is a tactic largely limited to that group.

I agree.

When we have to vote for the students federation in my university, its always the same thing. Engineering, medicine, business and law always vote overwhelmingly right wing, while those shit-tier careers that you mentioned vote mostly left.

Educated my ass.

Nice post. I would have to agree. Unfortunately I have found its more of a conspiracy of idiocracy and incompetence rather than outright sinister intent.

Everyone wanted to go to college. Now everyone else wants to go to college and they want you to do the hokey pokey too.

>based on parroting opinions

You don't even have to parrot, I never once lied and pretended to be a good cultural Marxist, even in African American poetry (required for my "multicultural credit")

All you have to do is spin plausible bullshit in a "intro/thesis/1/2/3/conclusion/thesis" format and you got yourself an English, history, or any kind of sociology degree. I've passed classes on literature without reading any of the books covered in the class. You just read other people's peer reviewed BS until you get an idea then skim the book looking for quotes that back your idea

I've never been one to agree with the liberal straw man that only uneducated and/or stupid people are conservative or lean right or whatever.

Being brainwashed into believing SJW bullshit =/= receiving an education. Further, you can have a "formal" education, degree included and still be a retard. Just look at your average college student these days.

The liberal flow of attacking people or a belief structure has been the same for my entire 30 years on this planet: Appeal to emotion, and if that doesn't work then insult the opposition's intelligence, which is a bit ironic given that those who have the most intellect are able to divorce important things and the harsh realities of existence from their personal feelings.

I don't have a formal college education. I chose by choice not to go, and I already can comfortably say that I have a better understanding of every relevant thing there is than anybody that's in my family, or circle of friends and acquaintances.

And even though I'm an Americant, I'd have happily voted to leave the EU if I lived in the UK, knowing the inherent risks but more because of the higher ceiling and prospects of a better future than staying in the EU offers.

Taking a calculated risk =/= not understanding the significance of a vote like this. Liberals need to just get over themselves. It's okay to lose a vote once in a while, you can't win 100% of the time. These fuckers win so much, and on the rare occasion that they lose they act as though the world is ending.

It's absurd.

The whole West is anti intellectual. It's not limited to left or right.

At this point most people just prefer to say something that feels right than do research and figure out what is right.

Contemporary society has made people lazy fucks at the same time democracy has enabled the lazy fucks to elect people to power who tell them "It's ok to be intellectually lazy"

Honestly the elites don't care about the issues that affect the majority of the population. They don't worry about immigration, because these issues don't have any bearing on their ability to make money. The EU is a cash cow for the banks and corporations who run the society. When you get a good education, you're so thoroughly indoctrinated. When you pass through this system you are often socially liberal but very economically authoritarian.
