Farage will never hold mainstream office. He's just not built for it. Look at his attendance as an MEP. https://www.change.org/p/boris-johnson-mp-nigel-farage-must-be-involved-in-the-brexit-negotiations-in-brussels

Get this signed lads. The Conservatives care more about their popularity than our interests. They are clearly forming a fifth column against all us patriotic Britons, and they can't be trusted to ensure our post-Brexit demands are met. We have won the battle, but the war has just begun.
Our next aim should be to get Farage the platform he needs to speak for us. Boris will only go so far. Let's get the representation we deserve, and let's get Nigel the recognition he deserves. Our independent future will not be truly secure until we do.
Sign this petition, share it.
Join UKIP and vote UKIP at the next elections. Do not be fooled into thinking it will be a wasted vote.
With Labour in turmoil and the Tories divided on the Brexit issue, it's the perfect time for UKIP's ranks to swell.

Priti Patel is clearly the best choice, though unfortunately she's ruled herself out. Can you imagine the glorious fury from the left as a young Asian, Hindu woman on the right of the Conservative Party became PM? Not only would they not be able to go down the normal "muh racism" route. but the Tory Party would be able to boast having put into power two female PMs, whilst the Labour Party steadily gets more and more male dominated. It'd piss off all the right people.

Gove would be preferable too but he's too toxic after his stint as Education Secretary.

By the way, you're underestimating how much young people love the freedom of movement directive and ease of studying in Europe while in the EU. There are plenty of other non-economic reasons to vote remain as well.

Theresa May is one big question mark to me.
In the earlier years as Home Secretary she enacted some very tough anti-immigration measures like cutting the right of bogus colleges to sponsor student visas (even two large universities had their licenses revoked) or pushing through with the deportation of muslim clerics. Yes she had to spend millions doing it but there was no choice as EU legislation forced the government to fight in expensive higher court proceedings.

She then made a speech on how low skilled migration made it impossible to build cohesive societies.

But something happened along the way and she became a SJW, bullying police forces for not recruiting enough moslems and niggers, enacting a bunch of hate speech bullshit and even forcing the police to record "islamophobia" as a separate category of hate crime.

Which one is the true May, /pol/? Was she being legit at first but then was forced by Cameron's centrist entourage to adopt a different stance on things? She comes across as someone who would be almost a ukipper if given the right backing in parliament.

Also if I'm not mistaken, the NCA was her idea because she felt local police forces weren't able to tackle organized crime properly, that's pretty based too.

I said government-provided funding to uni research. We spend the lowest percentage of our GDP on scientific research in universities than most Western countries. We actually get more research funding from the EU than we put in. If we pulled out of the EU, the small amount we'd save (after factoring having to pay to access the single market), wouldn't be enough to cover the loss in university funding as the government would have a shit tonne of other commitments.

Also, I wasn't referring to Erasmus but actually university fees for EU students. International fees for undergrads and masters can be ten-fold higher than those for EU students.

Additionally, the lack of visas makes it extremely easy for young people to move to other countries and spend a few years in casual work and learning a new language.

This just fermented my belief that you have no fucking clue and probably don't speak anything besides English. You cannot pick up university level language skills "on the go" or by jobbing in a cafe. I've seen people with years of intensive "German international high school" training crash and burn many times. To study here, you need to have a very solid command of the language and there are no English-speaking programs for undergraduates.

We don't make as much as we used to, we don't export like we used to, we're too fucking busy creating shitty pointless modern art and doing nonsensical lab experiments because muh eu gibmedat.

MAKE BRITAIN GREAT AGAIN!

There's no certainty that we'll join the EEA but it's looking very likely (I doubt leavers will be happy about that though as it means free movement of labour)

And Jesus christ. I didn't say picking up a language to be able to study at university. I meant living somewhere for a few years to experience the culture. I've known plenty of people who've moved somewhere and been able to pick up a working proficiency for a language within a few years.

Additionally, I've actually studied Spanish for 7 years so I do know a fair bit about how difficult it is to learn a language for university level.

You need to stop jumping to conclusions and start reading posts properly.

Because that would be silly. Ignore the assblasted remainders, there is no way this isn't happening now without consequences the political class is not willing to even consider risking.

The reason Brussels wants Article 50 invoked ASAP is because it gives them the power. It was specifically crafted to make leaving extremely difficult. Starting the 2 year time limit puts us at their mercy.

However, the more we fuck around the more Europe suffers from the uncertainty. Remember, we're now their single biggest external market and they have no idea what the trading relationship is going to be. Germany and France both have elections coming up, this is no time to be playing political hardball when it comes to costing their citizen's jobs.

Play this right and we'll get what we need in negotiations. Rush in and we'll regret it.

“He has been out-maneouvered and check-mated,” the comment, by a prolific and anti-Brexit commenter identified as Teebs, says. “If he runs for leadership of the party, and then fails to follow through on triggering Article 50, then he is finished. If he does not run and effectively abandons the field, then he is finished. If he runs, wins and pulls the UK out of the EU, then it will all be over – Scotland will break away, there will be upheaval in Ireland, a recession … broken trade agreements. Then he is also finished. Boris Johnson knows all of this.”

Boris is fucked in all holes.

Politics has been skewed in the UK by the EU for the last 20 years. The Government has been able to pass the buck of accountability to the EU. And the Opposition has been pinioned by the EU straitjacket. Post-brexit, politicians will show their true colours.

Anti-intellectualism.

Apparently Brexiters are "sick of experts".

It's quite funny how they're telling all of us "privileged" and skilled workers to fuck off when we're the ones who provide the most in tax receipts to the government.

The phrase "cutting off your nose to spite your face" definitely comes to mind.

10k a year delivery man is doing it wrong unless hes working 10 hours a week.

Also people with less money are less affected in the short term by over-reactions in markets. It takes about a year+ to start bothering the normies. If the markets recover quickly from the initial shock and the UK proves iteself a worthy trading partner. Some people are talking as if the referendum has literally just bankrupt the government, all businesses are on strike, bread is 3 days away from Jamal stabbing you for a loaf.

Corbyn facebook post
>Our country faces a huge challenge following Thursday's vote to leave the European Union. And the British people have a right to know how their elected leaders are going to respond.
We need to come together to heal the divisions exposed by the vote. We have to respect the decision that has been made, hold the government to democratic account over its response, and ensure that working people don't pay the price of exit.
Neither wing of the Tory government has an exit plan. Labour will now ensure that our reform agenda is at the heart of the negotiations that lie ahead. That includes the freedom to shape our economy for the future and the necessity of protecting social and employment rights.
One clear message from last Thursday's vote is that millions of people feel shut out of a political and economic system that has let them down and scarred our country with grotesque levels of inequality.
I was elected by hundreds of thousands of Labour Party members and supporters with an overwhelming mandate for a different kind of politics.
I regret there have been resignations today from my shadow cabinet. But I am not going to betray the trust of those who voted for me - or the millions of supporters across the country who need Labour to represent them.
Those who want to change Labour's leadership will have to stand in a democratic election, in which I will be a candidate.
Over the next 24 hours I will reshape my shadow cabinet and announce a new leadership team to take forward Labour's campaign for a fairer Britain - and to get the best deal with Europe for our people.

Well he wouldn't be as badly effected as some whacky lefto who's got no livelihood left because theres no funding for a sculptural interpretation of post modern industrialism in the context of pre apoplectic ineptisism

The point is there is a hell of a lot of people out there who are fed up, see that the EU has done nothing for them, or their family, or their friends. They see the foreigners in the street speaking a different language, they see them committing crimes, they read about "rape gangs".

They're losing their identity, their country, and perhaps the EU solely isn't to blame, but they know leaving will scar the elite somewhat.
