If only there was some way we could sort of get two petitions going. We could count how many signatures we got on each one to decide what the country as a whole believed. Sort of like a vote. We could also have people "register" for this vote so we can ensure that only people who are citizens can sign the petitions so we could ensure it was free from foreign influence or fraud. That seems very fair.
