Consider history, a tribal society or whatever. Whenever a competing tribe rolled through what happened to all the men? Absolutely culled, down to the fucking children, male bloodlines destroyed. During partitions Polish women were cornerstone of retaining Polish culture and language against oppressors - to simply put, without Polish women signing lullabies in Polish there might be no Polish language, and that happened with lots of Polish men exiled/killed. Other example - Central African women are most adamant about female mutilation to continue. Women in general have much bigger sense of community in terms of inclusiveness and continuity, men in terms of security and interest.
