It's kind of tough if you don't have experience.
First, you'll need to install python.
Then, you'll need to look at the script's source code and see all the "import" declarations at the top.
Some of those packages are non-standard (like "tempmail"), so you'll need to find and install those python packages.
And you might not even have a python package installer program ("pip"), so you'll need to install that program first before you can even install the aforementioned packages.
I played around with it for about a minute, and I realized that I don't have the time to track down all the pieces and parts that I would need to run it, because I'm only a very casual python user.
It's probably best to find someone who uses python quite regularly and ask them to run it. Otherwise you'll have a steep learning curve, and a bunch of things to figure out on your own.

Im trying to clear it up in my head to make sure and its as follows:
Signature_count = the total number of signatures on the entire thing, this includes countries outside of the UK.
The GB signature_count is votes from within the UK.

These numbers don't make any sense, the GB sig count suddenly jumps up by around 2 million from between 21:21 and 23:01 but the total signature count doesn't increase by a corresponding amount. Does this mean non UK votes were converted into UK votes?

The json was stuck at ~3XX,XXX for literally hours, I was in the earlier threads. The petition was getting 10,000 votes per minute, but the votes per country weren't going up in the json, and the total votes per country didn't match the total votes.
What probably happened is that it only updates occasionally, or there was some back-end issue. What's clear to anyone with a brain is that the json and the total number of votes don't necessarily coincide at once, and the json lags behind the total.

I think it's supposed to be a breakdown of votes by district, each district represented by an MP.
What would be damning is checking if the total votes for the MP section is the same as the total votes from Great Britain on the upper section, which is vote breakdown by country.

The votes didn't add up to the amount displayed on the counter. They added up to ~400,000 when this meme started while the counter said over 1 million. The obvious explanation is that they process UK numbers differently from other numbers and the manner in which they update is unstable. Hence why UK's numbers are frozen again, this time at 2401768.
See this pic. The person didn't add up all those numbers. They clearly don't add up to 1,194,001. It's because the UK numbers don't get processed in the same way and didn't update.

If you write a script to add up the votes in those JSON files (or just look at them and guesstimate), you'll see that the total votes didn't add up to the total displayed on the website. Because the UK votes were making the counter tick up, but weren't being added to the JSON file for whatever reason. Probably because they put UK votes through more scrutiny.

Moron. The constituency votes are more specific information and harder to fake. Those add up to correct numbers. The sum of all constituencies wasn't updating for whatever reason. It's a meaningless bug.
A large amount of these votes from Vatican and shit are coming from a bot thread on cripplechan. It's only a few people and everyone is calling them faggots, but now you know. This time it's not necessarily the government.
If you add all the signatures by constituency, you will get all the signatures made in the UK
Then if you add the signatures by country, excluding the UK's Signature Count you get quite close numbers (if not higher) according to the petition.
It seems that there is a cron task updating the values every x time so it makes it easier for handling the data.
TL:DR
You should get data for GB's signatures on the "signatures_by_constituency" part not on the "signatures_by_country" part, and then add the results excluding the GB from the countries, to get the precise data from the petition.
I put together a vote counter to see how the JSON numbers add up.
The new numbers themselves are not suspicious. They didn't remove or add any foreign votes, and British votes were massively underrepresented before. There are fewer votes under countries/constituencies than the total they're claiming, but all petitions on this site seem to have the same problem.
I don't think it's rigged by anyone in the government. But we do know that there are a lot of bots spamming it with votes. Making people aware of that is the best approach for discrediting it, rather than conspiracy theories about why the number jumped up.

I think the votes by country are updating slower than the votes by constituency since they have to go through another server meant to filter out fraud (proxies, bots) whereas the vote by constituency might be because the location is self-reported, available immediately and therefore unfiltered (for now). If you look in the bot here >>78743431 you can see that one of the inputs they use for voting is a zip code.
That said, I think you might be right since the numbers seem to add up (+/- small margin of error due to several services updating). What do you think?

What you see on the Signatures By Country is an outdated value.
When it got updated at around 23:01 (backup time) it got bumped from 365,483 to 2,401,768. accordingly to the Signatures By Constituency
So no, there is no edited data by any human on the json or the database.
What could be happening is someone just feeding false information to the server on other countries, but that isn't affecting the GB votes due to the additional layer of security regarding these.
