Uneducated idiot here.
Can someone explain to me the consequences of Brexit? What are the major short and long term effects of it? What are the pros and cons?
Pic unrelated.

Brits have been bitching about the EU for a long time. Mostly because they can't sell bananas by the pound. Now they can.
>>78708998
Can I get an actual explanation? I've been reading articles attempting to understand, but all of them are just bitching that it happened or saying it's good without saying why.

I think it's kinda like if Texas was to secede or something.

England can now charge import tax from all EU countries, they can't do that in the EU. Also England can decide how many immigrants they want (even if it is zero) but if they are in the EU they are forced to take them in. Also England had to pay a lot of money to stay in the EU.
These are just a few things, it's a pretty big issue
>>78708718
the main reasons for brexit were muh feels just this time frome the right side
>>78709754
So was this primarily a move to regulate immigration?
Cons: angry globalists try to tank the economy, whining from EU.
Pros: Can actually choose their own destiny, not doomed to getting turned into part of the Caliphate
>>78709754
>Also England can decide how many immigrants they want (even if it is zero) but if they are in the EU they are forced to take them in.
this is true but misleading
the real immigration problem in Britain is the hordes of Pakis, Indians, niggers and Arabs which have nothing to do with the EU
the EU just mandates free travel inside the EU so the EU is responsible for the Poles and Romanians in Britain which while a problem are nowhere near the issue that the other groups are
>>78709465
Except that would never happen.
>>78708718
The ability of Europe to prevent another World War is heavily threatened, Russia can now influence the UK freely, pro-Putin parties like Front National and UKIP are emboldened, the ability of the EU to help clean up the environment is threatened, the UK will likely begin overfishing the North Atlantic once more, and most importantly the EU must now realize that so-called 'euroskeptic' parties are actually just fascist parties in disguise.
>>78709864
No, not entirely, but the people who voted remain only had the immigrants in mind. That's all the fucking liberals care about
>>78710033
Refugees from countries like Germany and France try to cross into English borders frequently and it stops free movement from those Muslims coming into our countries. Also, EU had a say in most of our law and legislature, meaning they could strong arm us into accepting more refugees and having more lax border control in general if they wanted (and Germany WAS pushing for this kind of thing)
>>78709465
lolno, the European Union and America are absolutely not analogous to each other
>England
>Anything like Texas
We're being displaced by Pakis, not Mexicans, keep up bud
>>78710330
>Refugees from countries like Germany and France try to cross into English borders frequently
drop in the ocean compared to the hundreds of thousands of pakis and indians you have legally allowed into the country by your own volition
the real problem is not the EU and never has been when it comes to British immigration
>>78710139
>prevent another World War
Is that because the EU kept Britain in check, and disallowed them to involve themselves in military affairs or something?
>>78710580
A united Europe means a united military.
Right now the UK is nearly defenseless and has no allies.
>>78709335
Basically it's the same reason we split from England. The EU politicians in Brussels were unelected officials who were making policy for England (without representation), which was in direct opposition to the interests of the common man, but filled the bank accounts of globalists. BREXIT is a reaction to it. Globalism, as it is played out today, is a shell game amongst the Elite in the world. It doesn't benefit the average working class man.
Basically, people will occasionally overturn/usurp the governments which consistently fail to pay out, no matter how often they claim its for the greater good. This is all rather Jeffersonian.
>>78708718
It's good for this reason, alone:
Saudi Arabia refuses to take any of the "refugees" currently flooding Europe unabated and committing unspeakable atrocities. They do, however, use their oilbux to fund the construction of mosques all over Europe. The EU allows this to happen, and has total power over immigration to EU nations.
Saudi Arabia is invading Europe and imposing Shariah by proxy, EU lets it happen, leaving means it stops in Britain.

>The U.K. with the fifth largest military in the world and the full backing of NATO and the Commonwealth is without allies or military security
You're a fucking idiot.
>>78710983
NATO was replaced by the Eurozone. This is not 1985, it's 2016.
And the Commonwealth is dead. The British Empire is dead. They're a stupid little island nation, and now they have no diplomatic relations with anyone.

> Can actually choose their own destiny, not doomed to getting turned into part of the Caliphate
this is worth EVERYTHING
>>78711121
>NATO was replaced by the Eurozone
You're just beging me to laugh at you right now aren't you? Care to explain why France finally came back into NATO after 40 years if the Eurozone was what you claim?
>>78711121
>now they have no diplomatic relations with anyone
>foreign diplomats all phoned up to tell the people they've been working with for decades that they're no longer friends because the public voted a certain way
Intriguing story Ameribro
>Hit for economy
>No one will bother them about Euro
>No EU flags next to British flag
>Less market interventionism forced from Brussel
>Brits will have more trouble in traveling/working across Europe
>Less Polacks
>Weaker Europe

People need to stop using this inane analogy.
Texas has been a state in the union for more 150 years. It doesn't have a different system of government, it doesn't speak a different language, it doesn't use different currency.
A better analogy would be a North American Union that put the United States, Mexico, and Canada under the politico-economic power of one body.
Of course, most Americans would never agree to this, that's why a majority of Americans support Brexit. Freedom is in our blood.
>>78715203
You have state laws in America so technically it does have a different system of Government like every state.
