What part of "short term economic hit" don't you understand?

The UK has been an irrelevant shithole since we lost the empire, we would become even worse anyway once we became a muslim country.

May I also make a point about "big business".

People say "fuck big business!"

May I remind you that THE UNITED STATES, the biggest economy in the world, is BUILT on big business? Big business is literally the BACKBONE of the US economy.

The massive financial institutions, Citigroup, JP Morgan Chase, BOA, Wall Street. All the massive technology companies, Apple, Google, Facebook. Massive car manufacturers, General Motors, Ford, Fiat-Chrysler. Oil companies like Exxon-Mobil and Chevron. Retailers like Walmart. I could go on.

Are SMEs (small and medium size enterprises / businesses) important? Of course. They make up 50% of private sector jobs. But they cannot EXIST, they cannot PROSPER, without the economic prosperity afforded to a country by big business.

Poorer countries have SMEs too, but what sets them apart is the lack of BIG businesses. That is why they are poor irrelevant countries and why the US, the UK, France, Germany are big important economies.

What will happen to big businesses in the UK, we don't know yet. But the point I'm making is if you voted for Brexit because "FUCK BIG BUSINESS! WE DON'T NEED THEM! THEY CAN FUCK OFF FOR ALL I CARE!", then you're a complete and utter fucking moron.
>>
>Scotland and Northern Ireland are leaving

both are literally not possible
>>
>>78678760
The UK economy puts more in to the EU than it gets out of it.

The UK wealth gap is increasing and this is decidedly anti british. Yes, there has always been one, but I believe they have moved past it, culturally.

It doesn't really matter if the UK doesn't have as much world political power, but it does have more sovereignty. And why shouldn't they? Why should a small group of UK citizens become very wealthy on the backs of the majority? Why should UK citizens work to support weaker economies? Economies who's investment in their human capital and culture is less than that UK's?

Thats what the EU is. "This country is struggling, British people work so they can survive (and breed more struggling people)"
>>
>>78679317
If it comes to that, I hope your sacrifice won´t be in vain Britbro, you are our greatest ally!
>>
>>78678760
Meanwhile in reality:
EU stocks are plummeting faster and to a worse degree than UK is
Future of EU is absolutely uncertain while the future of the UK is pretty solid, and investors are showing this
Other EU nations are now having pushes for referendums to leave the union
Germany has to figure out how to cover an extra 3 billion to pay for the EU
UK can now make better trade deals with the US, China, Canada, India, Australia, Japan, etc.
UK can still make trade deals with individual EU nations and there's strong incentive to keep current trade deals in place

The actual losers here are the EU. Hopefully we have a netherlands exit next year.

Then we can rejoin it, keep all our big businesses, and be the 2nd biggest economy in Europe again.

I just don't get this. What happened in the last 100-200 years? Imagine if us Americans had the same attitude.

>WHAT!? Resist the british!? do you have ANY idea how many people will die!? We would be comfortable under british rule, we should just submit. No deaths that way. Think of all the YOUNG PEOPLE that will have to live with this war!

I feel like everyone has become too soft to resist any oppressor these days. They just want to talk and keep things the same and are too scared to be independent. They all want a dad to just tell them what to do as long as they get to keep their comfortable lazy lives.

These people don't seem to be aware that the world is not post scarcity. We aren't a self sustaining utopia. We have been at peace for so long that we have completely forgotten what it is to have to fight and actually suffer for an ideal. They're just so used to complaining on facebook and getting what they want that they honestly think that's how everything is done now.

But big businesses can still survive in the UK. The people in the glass towers get to stay there. They didn't want Brexit because this removes the EU regulations that are specifically designed to stop people from creating new businesses. Big businesses wanted us to remain so the regulations would eliminate or stagnate the competition. With the regulations of no more concern people can start up businesses much more easily, which leads to competition for the boys in their glass towers. Protip: competition is a key ingredient for a healthy economy. Why do you think everything in the UK is so fucking expensive in comparison to other places? Big businesses can still survive, it just means they'll have to offer affordable prices to the consumers to compete against upcoming businesses and / or improve the services / goods they're selling.

People weren't such weak babies back then though and they valued national sovereignty and believed in their own ability to provide for themselves. They didn't allow themselves to become the jew's degenerate slave groveling at his feet for shekels like the british remainers, and probably about 50% of the western world to be honest now.

Hymn of Hate against England.

French and Russian, they matter not,
A blow for a blow and a shot for a shot!
We love them not, we hate them not,
We hold the Weichsel and Vosges gate.
We have but one and only hate,
We love as one, we hate as one,
We have one foe and one alone.
He is known to you all, he is known to you all,
He crouches behind the dark gray flood,
Full of envy, of rage, of craft, of gall,
Cut off by waves that are thicker than blood.
Come, let us stand at the Judgment Place,
An oath to swear to, face to face,
An oath of bronze no wind can shake,
An oath for our sons and their sons to take.
Come, hear the word, repeat the word,
Throughout the Fatherland make it heard.
We will never forego our hate,
We have all but a single hate,
We love as one, we hate as one,
We have one foe and one alone —
_ENGLAND!_

In the Captain's Mess, in the banquet hall,
Sat feasting the officers, one and all,
Like a sabre blow, like the swing of a sail,
One seized his glass and held high to hail;
Sharp-snapped like the stroke of a rudder's play,
Spoke three words only: "To the Day!"
Whose glass this fate?
They had all but a single hate.
Who was thus known?
They had one foe and one alone--
_ENGLAND!_

Take you the folk of the Earth in pay,
With bars of gold your ramparts lay,
Bedeck the ocean with bow on bow,
Ye reckon well, but not well enough now.
French and Russian, they matter not,
A blow for a blow, a shot for a shot,
We fight the battle with bronze and steel,
And the time that is coming Peace will seal.
You we will hate with a lasting hate,
We will never forego our hate,
Hate by water and hate by land,
Hate of the head and hate of the hand,
Hate of the hammer and hate of the crown,
Hate of seventy millions choking down.
We love as one, we hate as one,
We have one foe and one alone--
_ENGLAND!_

Leave politicians recently clarified that when they said 'Take Back Control of Our Borders!' they didn't actually mean there would be any reduction in immigration.

In fact they're now hoping to get a Norwegian-style deal with the EU, i.e. access to the Common Market in exchange for abiding by all EU laws and allowing freedom of movement. So just as much immigration as before.

Plus the media is pretty much all doom and gloom, bar a few of the papers.

Hence why you've got a suddenly influx of people who think Remain might have been a better choice.

Now we actually see what happens to our country for voting Leave. The United Kingdom itself is going to break up, our Prime Minister of the last 6 years (re-elected only last year) has resigned, our credit rating is going down, inflation is going to go up, and it's entirely possible that big companies will uproot out of Britain and move to the EU.

National pride is good, but our economy was the 2nd biggest in Europe and the 5th biggest in the world. Already it looks like you've overtaken us, because of market changes. We're fucked.

Hopefully the EU will be shocked enough by this to over some sort of curb on freedom of movement, not only because of us but because of Nexit, Swexit, Frexit, Italexit, etc. And hopefully they'll let us back into the single market because we need dat trade.

You do realize that this entire website gets that much traffic in a month, right? Not just /pol/, but the whole website. So basically the entirety of 4chan would have to be from the UK for this to be true and furthermore, everyone on this board would have to agree with leave.

I think you have a SLIGHTLY skewed view of how influential or relevant /pol/ is on the political scale.

If you can't leave the EU without crumbling, then your country doesn't exist as a sovereign nation to begin with. Leaving the EU is a test for Britain. If it were comfortable or great in the immediate future, it wouldn't be a difficult decision. Gaining independence from a tyrant or entangling alliance is never comfortable in the short term, but it can be necessary. We can't always be comfortable all the time.

If you are willing to sacrifice sovereignty for short term comfort, then you've already given up on your country as a sovereign nation.

Wow Carnival, literally the bottom tier cruiseline.
>The pound has plummeted
It's exactly as it was 4 months ago, it will be at 1.40 in a week, back to pre-brexit news in a fortnight.
>Various shares have plummeted (e.g. housebuilders have dropped by 30%)
Do you know how markets work? Read above, as for this there will be plenty of people capitalising on this intentionally and enjoying it until it equalises and rebounds.

Can we just get this clear.

Nobody cares about Scotland.

Scotland is the most incestuous pile of wank excuse for a country that's ever been created.

Those idiots have been cucked for 300 years by England, and when given a choice to leave, they said no. They are more cuckolded as a nation than Germany or Sweden could ever be in the most exaggerated sense of the word.

When you drive up into Scotland, the difference is notable almost instantly. The towns and cities are visually shitter than anything, even in the most derelict far north of England (Cumbria and Northumberland). Even the first motorway service station you go into, you know it's Scotland.

All that is good in Scotland is the rural terrain, where the Scottish haven't built anything.

>Scotland and Northern Ireland are leaving
Scotland probably will, yes, but their economy will suffer massively as a result. They'll collapse on themselves overnight. Seriously, look at their tax expenditure versus their income, and realize that they're only able to do what they do because of England.

Northern Ireland leaving is a 50/50, there really isn't the political momentum in ROI for reunification, at least not at the level SF has in NI. Either way, doesn't really hurt England.

What will HOPEFULLY happen is the Commonwealth will become important again, and free movement will exist between the commonwealth countries. I think you'll see Canada, Aussieland, New Zealand, NI, Scotland be in favor of it, and possibly even ROI wanting to join since the EU is going to crumble and ROI relies on England for trade/jobs.

>Bunch of irrelevant shit about economy
Uncertainty causes loses, everyone and their mother knew there would be down sides to it in the short term, but the UK has the potential to negotiate itself into very good trade deals with not just the EU, but the rest of the world.

>UK become irrelevant while France, Germany, Italy and Spain enjoy fruits

France will exit soon too, and I think they will swing FAR to the right as a result, there's years of pent up anger in a population that's been subject to terror attacks that the leftists embrace.

Germany is already relevant, sorry dude. But the collapse of the EU will lead to the collapse of Germany. And Merkel will finally be hanged for treason.

Italy and Spain..Yeah, they're so relevant. Economically disastrous shitholes is what they are.

>>
>>78689920

Exit, because when you look at the facts it makes sense long term.

The only ways it affects us negatively is the short downfall, however the sensationalists/scaremongers will hurt the transition by driving companies/investors to leave.

Realistically out of the EU, we can become economically stronger but we have to regain what we've lost. If people can keep from crumbling in on themselves and accept the decision to leave, we will get there quickly.

But the world exists on the sound of a pin drop, you can destroy nations with mere words and a few changes will start a domino effect.

People need to believe in Britain, each week from now we will return to economic stability and resume and improve our agreements.

People like to slam Leave for being racist, which it isn't. Xenophobic maybe but that is the other side of the coin in which economics are a primary concern.

All the remainians will scream about is just the racism and the obvious short term downfall, failing to see the long term benefits to our financial structure and capabilities, but also our cultural and national decision making.
>>
>>78689920
Didn't you follow the debate at all?
People like Daniel Hannan already said that, now that the referendum is over, current way of immigration wont change.

>But within hours of the result on Friday morning, the Ukip leader, Nigel Farage, had distanced himself from the claim that £350m of EU contributions could instead be spent on the NHS, while the Tory MEP Daniel Hannan said free movement could result in similar levels of immigration after Brexit.

Hannan said: “Frankly, if people watching think that they have voted and there is now going to be zero immigration from the EU, they are going to be disappointed.”

All the while, current policy towards immigrants from India or Pakistan wont change at all
The politicians on VoteLeave dont have a plan on how to govern themselves since they never thought they would actually win

>Doesn't mean that the EU will end anytime soon.

Nationalist movements elsewhere are already demanding referendums in their own countries. Once the situation in Britain stabilizes and people realize that leaving the EU isn't the end of the world, those demands will grow louder.

Nobody wants unelected bureaucrats in Brussels and Germany making laws for them. Especially with respect to immigration.
>>
>>78678760

>The pound has plummeted
>Various shares have plummeted (e.g. housebuilders have dropped by 30%)
Yeah, and so has the euro. It's all part of the short-term hit caused by uncertainty and investors worrying of the big businesses scare mongering.

>Scotland and Northern Ireland are leaving
Not yet, and Scotland will come crying back to us when it realises that it can't leech of the eu's bennies (spain will veto them out) and it can't survive on cheap oil and socialism.

>Companies are already moving to the EU (e.g. Carnival Cruises moving from Southampton)
"the perception is that there will be job losses."
"Carnival UK denies it. But the documents show the creation of a new company in Hamburg is a substantial long term strategic move."
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-36611208
They haven't even started it yet; and they may not even follow through, since when they will start to consider it the EU will have already started to crash and tumble. That, and the creation of a new company may suggest that they will just be running one here, and run in Hamburg.

>Our Prime Minister has resigned
And that's not good? Dave was a joke, it's good to get the chance to have someone better.

>Our next PM will be unelected
There will be a Tory party election where we can vote for the tory leader, and there may be a GE (but I doubt that). Basically, the party leader will be elected by the people and so the PM will have been elected in a weird way.

>Our credit rating is about to go down
Threats

>Inflation is going to go up
Money isn't being printed at a faster rate. More pounds are just being made available to investors, which is why they're becoming cheaper. Soon people will buy them back up because
a) they're cheaper, so they can start to make a decent profit
b) they'll realise the scaremongering tales for what they are... scaremongering tales
c) inflation can be countered with higher interest rates (basic economic knowledge).

>Government borrowing will become more expensive (due to worse credit rating)
https://twitter.com/afneil/status/746668372864151552

>Our economy is now smaller than France's due to value losses
Now way to actually prove that since GDP is per annum and is based on cash flow. You can't base that on one day of Britain's share index (FTSC) going down (ours has gone done by a value of 199.41 (3.15%)).
You've also got to remember that France's share index (CAC) has suffered a worse hit than us (its value has gone done by 359.17, a 8.04% decrease).

>Investment in Britain will be stunted for a generation due to massive uncertainty
More like three to five months (If PM is an unlikely or frightening choice). That's not a generation. That's less than a half-year.

>The UK will become an irrelevant shithole while France, Germany, Italy and Spain enjoy the fruits of our losses
Right now the continent is worse off than the UK; I've already shown you how France is worse off, but I assume you'll soon see how Germany and Spain are worse off (don't get me started on how Italy's down the shitter with its share index). And, as we already know, the EU will be worse off than us due to how they're starting to crumble; if they won't crumble through democratic revolution, they'll crumble through violent revolution against an increasingly authoritarian and frightening state.

If you don't know what the share index is, it's the index that basically represents how well the stock market of a country is doing.
