>>
>>78596937
They're mostly clueless liberals looking for excuses to shit on the brexit after they lost the referendum

Whatever economic effects there will be - they'll take months to develop at least, and more likely years.

The pound dropping was just speculators, and it hardly even moved if you actually compare it with past performance spanning months/years instead of just the past 2-3 days.
>>
>>78597457
I get that. But can someone give me a specific example of a position that someone could have owned and thought, "oh no, better unload this stock since the UK isn't in the EU anymore." Maybe I'm retarded (likely) but I'm having a hard time putting myself in a trader's shoes on this one. I just don't get what companies they thought would tank in this situation.

I've rarely heard a better argument to change the status quo
>>
>>78596241
Why was leaving Reddit a good idea exactly?
>>
>>78597269

they're speculating about future movements because of the implications of leaving the EU in regards to profits of the companies they are investing in, if you think your stock will lose a high % of its value you dump it which is apparently what's happening - however this is probably either bad stocks which are overvalued the way the market sits (and leaving the EU will cause it to drop in value because it's not worth that value), or day traders making a shit load of actual money by shorting these stocks as they plummet and rise in such a short time

it doesn't matter anyway, market liquidity is good as it helps the market find the true value of stocks and commodities

also the government was paying something like 1.7 BILLION per year to the EU, this is from taxes and government investment, what we're seeing now is private entities (business or individuals) losing money because they chose to invest
>>
>>78596350
First post was the best
>>
>>78597031
Bankers betting for and against possible happenings.
>>
>>78597914
Speculators m8

People effectively putting bets on the market for what they think would change, thus introducing the very change they're expecting; self-fulfilling prophecy.

A lot of people expected the UK to stay in, and then when it didn't a whole bunch of people sold off stocks in a panic, and that was quickly followed up by more intelligent speculators immediately buying up all the stock.

Some people made a good few bucks out of the market movements while others lost.

This "huge drop" in currency worth barely makes 4 cent of a difference when you exchange for a euro.

Unless you're moving several hundred thousands of euro into Britain and out you will not even notice this "historically low worth" of the pound.

Typical big money fear mongering.

It's instability. When thing are easy to predict peopel are happy to have their money in a currency. When there's instability, there's a risk that they could stand to lose money so in order to avoid that they dump the currency.
>>
>>78596241
It was a good idea though

The people that sold their shares were the people threatening Britain to stay in the EU

Leaving the EU is amazing for Britain as Britain is a HUGE consumer and producer is Europe. Britain can now charge reasonable prices and stop immigration and seeing as how last year they spent 1.8 trillion on welfare spending and their GDP is only 2.1 trillion they really needed to do that.

Now Britain is in a position where it can actually take care of it's people and the kikes that threatened Britain will buy back in with in 6 months because need dem sheckles

But expect the lizard people to extremely active with their propaganda and 1 sided reporting/manipulation

It is going to go crazy to the point you think London independence is an actual thing

It was strange atmosphere sitting on the train this morning in London during rush hour. It was eerily quiet. The whole of London practically voting to remain, there was definitely an air of defeat, and severe disappointment. I saw a woman crying on the bus. This truly is evil triumphing over good. And there is definetely a very obvious divide in the country, with the voting ratio almost 50:50. I expect a lot of tension in the next coming years.
Pride in London is tomorrow, so a bit of positivity in such a shocking time. Though, as a volunteer, I am slightly afraid of tensions. But we will stand in solidarity, we will not go down without a fight.

This is the Eu, a large sinking ship that can barley keep itself together much less stay afloat for anymore. Britain has seized the opportunity to escape on a life boat. At first it can seem quite scary, you're no longer on a large ship that will seemingly protect you from everything. On the ship you always had enough food and rations to last; the surgeon was always able to stitch your wounds and help your bruises; when a crewmate got hurt or died you were there to press f. Ship life was bretty gud until your captain went fucking insane and so most of your crewmates. They're tearing apart and fucking up the ship claiming it's renovation. Now the ship's gonna get raped by the kraken and you can either stay and hope or gtfo there and quit relying on the fuckers who want you to stay and drown.

So that Brits can elect people with actual power over their country instead of electing people who are nothing but whipping boys of bureaucrats in Brussels like Cameron. Of course staying in the EU wouldn't affect white collar workers and college students, but it does affect blue collar workers who were being replaced by cheap foreign labor and, soon, robots.

Instability. Nobody's sure how this will affect UK's economy, so to be safe they just pull out of it altogether. Since UK will probably have to renegotiate trade deals their export and import markets could potentially be hurt, which means companies in the UK will lose value, which means anyone investing in them will lose money. I'm not saying this will for sure happen, but there are "surer bets" so to speak now so more conservative investors are pulling out.

Also a lot of it has to do with the UK finance industry overwhelmingly being in favor of remain. This is partially them "punishing" the leave folks.

The only people worried are the people who are taking advantage of the major exploits in this system.

As often as I hear the banks being pointed to blame, this simply is a lie. The banks are not to blame. The "evil bankster meme" was created as a red herring. The utilities and communications corporations are hurting the economy by constantly upping their rates on services. AT&T for example charging $15 per gigabyte of data.

As for the largest of the economic flaws;

Trump told the truth about real estate and the upper parasitic class is shitting their pants because they are afraid of a collapse along with regulations to prevent such abuse and exploitation again.

Real estate is better than gold.

The truth be told, the economy isn't bad at all. The main issue is real estate owners monopolizing the market; charging high rental costs and inflating real estate prices by nearly 150%.
Every time I talk to boomers and mention real estate prices being inflated, they flip their shit on me and try to shift the conversation immediately.

They know what they are doing, they are parasites living off of the working class and they could care a less about prosperity of future generations.

Everything in the UK just got 10% more expensive, overnight.

Imagine if, today, that house you wanted to buy was $300,000, but you decided to wait one more week. Now, it's $330,000, and the seller is looking at the muslim guy with euros in his pocket instead.

That's what is happening right now in the UK.

I thought it was to save the financial system...

the EU is unsustainable at current expenditure rates and it needs to change its ways, UK or no.

Look at Norway, largest sovereign wealth fund in the world, not an EU country really. Switzerland, safe haven banking center of the world, not in EU.

More like in couple of minutes after results came in. This is the kind of global elite we dealing with, i doesn't matters what you do, they rig the results and pretend that's economy. This is how they got countries into EU to begin with, since economy literally changed overnight even when they needed to buy banks and caused crisis in countries of Europe, as fast as it came it also gone.

There are literally hundreds of forex brokers out there, google, and read the reviews before using any of them.

And, yes, there are still a lot of money to be made from the brexit financial fallout, just hope the panic resumes next week, though it probably won't be as bad as the results night.

A fair warning though, if you've never day-traded before, you're much more likely to lose money than make any.

Remember how crisis traveled from Italy to Hungary and beyond? You know how it ended? It ended when banks were privatized and sold. That's what they want, they want to buy Britain, then they will stop, unless you make them stop. Same thing happened before EU, they forced people into EU with lowering credit ranking, playing around with stocks. It's always the same. Crisis comes, big companies cry, but actually what happens is big companies eating up smaller ones every decade, so they grow bigger. To solve this you either have to bomb New York or bribe them.

I'm laughing at all the financially ignorant people talking about shit they clearly have no clue about
Daily reminder that if the brexit vote ends up being the catalyst for a black swan, the european markets will be severely more affected than Britain. The eurozone is in a much, much worse state than the british market. The real threats to global economy are in China and unexpected results from a gradually failing central bank policy in the EU, US and Japan.
Wait for monday. Sit tight and get a drink. It'll be interesting. Ignore the histeria and the noise. Read and learn and stop echoing bullshit

you do know that trade deals are worked bilaterally right?
Everytime that a big political happening happens, companies and financial institutions adapt to it.
Prove me that the companies based on the City have already decided that its more profitable to move their entire base of operations to continental europe instead of waiting for the deals to be broked, and to try and influence those deals for a more useful resolution on their favour.

>People effectively putting bets on the market for what they think would change, thus introducing the very change they're expecting; self-fulfilling prophecy.
>Some people made a good few bucks out of the market movements while others lost.

This is 90% of significant market fluctuations btw it's basically a gigantic circle-jerk where dumb and/or panicky people lose money to cool-headed and/or manipulative people

Also big trading firms that have automated responses (sell X if the price drops below Y; buy B if the price rises above C) which are triggered with little human oversight make it easier for individual investors who pay close attention to score at their expense, since small fluctuations can snowball as automated responses trigger more fluctuations

Basically any newsworthy international event is almost guaranteed to cause short-term fluctuations

That indian article is just fear inducing and reasserting the "inevitable" policies of the status quo. I'm pretty sure nobody here is surprised that the victory of brexit is bound to bring instability. But permanent stability is impossible. And the EU brought this upon themselves. They were the progenitors of this instability in the first place.

The other two links is an horribly biased article, and the other is a video from current year man

Speculators who were hoarding stocks to dump thinking the remain vote would cause an uptick. Once it lost they all dumped the stocks in a panic (spurred on by all the panic nonsense in the media) and caused a drop that is utterly insignificant to anyone who doesn't trade daily. Anything under 5% is basically just noise when it comes to the stock market, you really can't read too much into it. Most sudden surges and drops are self-fulfilling prophecies as well.
