Game looks a lot better than the early gameplay footage. Looks like they toned down the arcadiness quite a bit. Looks like a shitty GTAV now, as opposed to a shitty Saint's Row.

Mafia 2 is such a weird game.
It has one of the worst maps in any open world game ever.
I get that it isn't really an open world game, more of a linear story-driven game set in semi-open world with nothing to do but main missions.
But that doesn't excuse the map being so fucking shit. Mafia 1 was similar but it had an interesting city with different districts you could actually differentiate from each other.
Also what's up with the story in Mafia 2?
Initially they clearly tried to make Joe some loveable goof, the main character's best friend who is kind of funny but fucks up from time to time.
And yeah, he is kind of funny but he is clearly a more intelligent and capable gangster than Vito. All the more demanding missions, all the break-ins, all the heists are actually planned and orchestrated by Joe.
Yet it is Vito who all the bosses look up to and who survives in the end because they favour him.
