You need money to make money.
1000 is too small to make anything out of it.
You should invest it though. You'll learn in the process.

Buy something safe that pays steady, increasing dividends, preferably in a sector that benefits from global megatrends.

The trick and the hardest part is to buy it at an attractive price. Fortunately, we have a sale incoming so you may have an opening soon.

Buy and hold, until you know what you're doing.
Never panic, but if you know you've made the wrong choice, be ready to exit.

Don't get greedy, but let your profits run.

Don't ask investment advice on 4chan.
Don't pay for investment advice. Minimize your costs.

You need to be able to make your own judgment.

Buy pound stocks whilst they're cheap. Sell them after a couple of weeks when the pounds picks up in value and sells for more than you bought them. You make a profit for selling for more than what you bought them for. You can give back the money that you spent buying the stocks and keep the profit, meaning you made money.

>>
>>78494846

Those fucking globalists should know, that world economy is shit and it was going down from 1980s~70s, then some great motherfucking mustardminds wanted to pay their way out of every crisis.

This hasn't worked and whole world is in so much debt that the only way to go further is to collapse all the system. 2008 was last call and we could have let crisis take it course, so we could rebuild and relocate resources to meaningful business, not the bullshit that take the cake now and is ineffective.

Now Brexit could trigger whole economical system collapse, but Brits aren't guilty. Crooked economical system is on the other hand. Just look on how most central banks go into NIRP or ZIRP, how buying their bonds generate costs instead of profit and how their debts go well beyond any limits.

Also, there are many bubbles to burst: Japan economy, Italy, American students loans, Chinese housing market and many more. It needs now to much to system to not collapse and free itself of all this bullshit

Financial market isn't so much dependent on real world goods market, but really on the optimist outlook of the investors.

On the other hand if they all would go suicidal it would affect goods market, cause companies would lose money on the market. Then they will have to cut the loses and some of them would bankrupt, but small businesses won't be affected as much

They don't necessarily trade it for another currency, but it's more of a 'dump pounds into the open market and hope that someone buys it'.

Algo's are computerized trading.

Currency markets are the biggest most liquid markets in the world. The ability to move large blocks of currency is needed for tons of reasons. Mostly trade related.

Interest rates really set the value of a currency. So thats usually the main consideration. But like any market Forex doesn't like instability.

Necessary no. All this shit used to be people, as recently as the 80s and 90s. A computer can trade much faster than a human can though, so they are very good at making those who run them money. Get in and out before a human even knows what's happened.

As such, humans are simply out competed.

Yeah it's annoying how important immigration was for this referendum. I've been shilling hard for 'the return of democracy', but as you can see, I'm not really informed on economics at all and most voters (on both sides) were even less informed. I don't mind a well-informed politician making those decisions on my behalf. But when they are completely changing the culture of a place against the will of the people who live there, there will inevitably be a backlash. I just hope it hasn't come completely at the expense of prosperity and/or peace.

This.

Computerized trading is exacted in micro seconds. and 60-70 percent of all daily trading volume is computerized.

Mainly the algo's look to exploit speed and price imbalances. But there are all kinds of computerized strategies.

>>
>>78500215
The algos follow the humans to the extent that when they see the humans doing a thing, they do the same thing a few microseconds ahead of the humans, which amplifies the effect of whatever the humans are doing. Then you get a nice feedback loop as the humans chase the algos, and the algos continue front-running. It's really very odd, but swissbro is right, fundamentals mean nothing.

And fuck knows what's even happening in the dark pools right now. IBs who work in that shit probably have a data loss prevention algorithm holding a fucking gun to their head.

>Can't we just ensure that we create all our vital produce domestically, and go from there?
Not really, unless you want to go back to an agricultural society. There's a reason why most EU countries now are net food importers..
>Or is it a necessity of the modern world?
It's not a necessity if you just want to eat... But if you want to partake in global trade and be a siginificant player in the international economy, you kind of have to. Doesn't the UK make most of it's money in the City?
>>
>>78501434

It shouldn't be at the expense of either.

They fucking sat on their asses and sought to tell you what to do. Take these refugees...Follow these new laws....

Well fuck them. Its your country. The EU is going to need to look long and hard at what happened here.

I have been saying for weeks I thought this was going to happen (brexit) But I was afraid that the EU might try to make an example of the Brits.

If they can crash your economy they can make brexit look like a failure and scare other countries from leaving the union.

This is right now my biggest fear.

It just a price you set in the trade incase it sinks.

example

I bought 10 shares of a stock at $70

I am going to set a stop loss at $60

meaning if it goes down $10 dollars my position will sell automatically because thats how much of a potential loss I was willing to take.

The pound will be fine. This is just the usual insider trading cashout that the market does every so often. The euro may not be with the impending referendums in other EU members and the nordic members saying they'll follow britain. Dunno enough about what makes up the FTSE to make a call.

You should be more worried about the other various bubbles that have gotten too big.

I don't think I really understand the system or its alternatives well enough to form any sort of coherent argument here - but I know that I don't like this finance-based economy at all. It's just all so completely abstract to me - nothing actually changes in terms of what's produced, but fluctuations in the actions of traders can have enormous effects on the lives of people. The world's biggest economies are trillions in debt, but apparently that's ok and it's sustainable. For me, it's mad - but maybe I'm just pleb. Trying to learn more about economics so that I can argue this more clearly, but if I'm being honest I find it mind-numbingly boring (even though I appreciate its necessity).

>>78502198
That's the problem - EU countries will very much cut off their noses to spite their face in the short-term if it prevents them from having a referendum, or voting leave if a referendum occurs. If Britain bounces back from this comfortably, the union will inevitably collapse, so it will be very important for them to try to punish the UK until it's all played out for a little bit at least. And that's what I'm worried about.

And who cares about this upcoming correction.

1. needed to get out of this 2 year hell range we have been in.

2. Solid test of previous levels

3. We get a micro stress test on the EU being dissolved.

4. USD worlds reserve currency.

5. Nothing changes about our economy really.

It's probably gonna hit the top 10 in the largest drops lists cause it's a very good moment to sell which causes others to decide to sell and it'll correct itself once enough people decide it's bottomed out enough to start buying cheap guaranteed profits and the market will be right back at the cycle again.

God bless monopoly money.

>fundamental trading is ded

Depends on which market you're trading. I trade Forex, and currencies like the GBP move the wrong way during major fundamental releases. Yet Australian/Canadian and sometimes American ones move according to the fundie releases. The financial sector in Britain is rotten to the core. They know the news releases hours, if not days before they're made public.

Forex is more of one man, having a bank's supply of liquidity at his disposal moving the markets the way he wants temporarily to make a buck. It's definitely a much more sentiment-driven market. Hence why Soros is so profitable at it. He knows how to manipulate people into pushing the market his way. Traders always value news from Goldman Sachs above any other financial institution. 5 of 6 institutions could say BUY, G.S. says SELL, low and behold, that pairing drops.
