My wife and I are 29, we both work, combined we make just over 115k, we don't feel financially stable enough to provide for a child. We save a lot. We take care of our nieces and nephews. Parent's keep pushing for a baby. But I don't feel worthy. My brother has 2 boys and a girl. My sister has a little girl. Well, i was literally the biggest piece of shit as a child. I had considerable anger problems and was always fucking huge and strong compared to everyone else. I was defiant and obnoxious, literally the worst kid you could imagine but with the strength of someone way older.
Given the odds of my off spring being similar to me, im going to wait until im ready to handle that without punching it to death.

Becoming a parent means that you bind yourself to a female for the rest of your life. The problem is that only a tiny amount of people will ever meet their soul mate. The rest has to put up with mediocrity or remain single. Now a few decades back that wasnt an issue. There wasnt much to do anyway, especially for poor/middle class men. It was also expected for them to have a family.
Today more and more people get degrees, more and more people are somewhat educated, more and more people can not be bothered to settle for mediocrity anymore and most of all, there are more and more activities that you dont need a lot of money for. Why be miserable in a relationship when you can instead have fun, without being forced to justify it to someone else?
The fact that women are way more 'free' than they used to be is also a gigantic issue. Most of them consider themselves special snowflakes who only deserve the best of the best. Wont be until their mid 30s that they realize how average they actually are.
