Most could not defend staying on EU other than just an appeal to some nebulous values that have nothing to with the European Union as an institution.
Their position is simply a vapid identity. A superficial concept of cosmopolitanism.

What does this mean? So people who grew up in the 1970s when there was the three-day week, where they literally couldn't use electricity (or GO TO WORK) for four days of the week because the coal miners were on strike, they're less knowledgable of the world than someone who reads Huffpost every day?

Someone who grew up in a time when the world was poorer, food was scarcer, healthcare was more primitive, life was tougher - these people have a more """""""""""""limited worldview"""""""""""""" than somebody who uploads selfies to their Instagram all day?

Most of the "working class" are nothing but a bunch of uneducated morons who're racist because that's what all the others do, not because they traveled the world and saw it themselves. Not like I'm not racist, but I base my racism on experience rather than on the people around me.

Isn't it an extremely bad sign that basically 50% of the country is unhappy right now, according to the polls? I think war is coming. Not collapse as a whole, but the more pressure it gets the more politicians will be forced to claim some procedures or appointment should not be free at point of service.

Some areas are however starting to struggle. Tens years ago at a surgery near me a person could get an appointment in a few days. Last year it was a few weeks of wait time. Few months ago someone came in to ask for an appointment and got told there is not one. Come back another day to ask. They got told this while the waiting room was full of immigrants with three kids a kids a piece. The pressure is clear for anyone working in the caring industry.

This whole thing is a product of increased technology to be honest. As we advance technology (by which I mean medical technology, food technology, manufacturing technology), we find ways to avoid the shitty jobs and harsh realities of the world, and protect ourselves in a little bubble. This seems like a grand idea, until reality comes along and bursts that bubble.

Perhaps in that way, it's inevitable.

They're the people that bullied them at school. They think they're meanies and they don't want them to call them names anymore.

Well firstly the immigrants didn't bully them at school, but secondly a lot of immigrants will be very passive and submissive because they're so desperate to get into a rich country. So the liberals think "look, they're innocent, they won't hurt us!"

Then they rape all the white women.

You can know about those things just as well if you are a young person who has studied history

PLUS you can know about comparable situations at other times and places in history.

And you have some kind of critical framework through which you can make comparisons between then, or even understand the structural reasons that they happened.

Lived experience gives you access to one set of experiences, academic study aggregates thousands of lived experiences

That's the beauty of academic education, lad
>>
>>78282267
And here we have the problem.

The middle class people with degrees are less likely to suffer under the EU in the near future. The less educated will, very fast.

What the middle class/educated people don't get, that they will be next. The see the short tie negative outlook after the exit and are scared, but they fail to see that the known stuctures will still corrode and collapse just a little bit slower, but then they gave the corporate- and political-elite too much power to correct the system to their benefit.
>>
>>78286753

>Because everyone can learn to do it, but not everyone can learn abstract ideas and put them in a mental framework. Sociology, contrary to popular beliefe is not easy, however its very hard for anyone who learned it to adjust their views based on real experiences.

This is not true at all. Both learning sociology and learning a trade require two steps:

1. assimilate the knowledge

2. apply it

>That'sa just because Weberian sociology deals with groups, not individual experiences. Which means even if you get beaten up by niggers every day a real sociologist cannot say anything based on that as you're just a single person.

Not true at all. You see more than you think.

You go to university and study your specific field playing make-believe, working as a retail assistant or making coffee. There is basically no life experience in that.

Compare that with being a middle aged guy who has had 20 different jobs, whose lived in different places and changed careers many times, all the while supporting a family.

The conversations you have at work alone are more substantial than anything you'll learn as a uni grad in your 20s
>>
>>78287403
>there is no objective reason to select that method of deciding true statements about the world over the heuristic methods most people use.

This is how everything scientific works as well, you test an idea many times before you accept it as an appropriate method to use.

And even though sociology is not hard science it's still way more scientific than Joe from the pub saying his opinion on niggers.

And Joe will never put any kind of methodology out there for others to test, because it's only in his mind and he's not educated enough to express it in an abstract and comparable way.

Surely your argument is retarded? Just because there's fewer of them means they're wrong?

Okay then how about this - there's fewer soldiers who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan than there are civilians. Does that mean civilians know more about the hardships of life itself than soldiers? Personally, I don't think so.

East Anglia living here.

It's socially conservative compared with most places in Britain, but in general it's just much wealthier with people owning detached houses and retired professionals from other parts of the UK living out their old age here.

What shocks me is how much nicer people are, where I live is very White and horsey, but the immigrants who do live here are treated with kindness and respect rather than resentment, in big cities there is genuine racial tension and everyone seems to be eking out a sad miserable existence, in rented flats in grey cities.

Although ALL young women who do shitty liberal arts '''degrees''' are going to vote IN, they're still a tiny minority within the IN campaign.

IN mostly consists of unemployed scum, muslims, banking shills and people who are ''leaving this shithole''.

OUT campaign mainly consists of working class, self employed, and standard small business. British people.

And those British people in the OUT campaign contribute A MILLION times more to this country than the pathetic unemployed, gender studies slag who writes feminist blogs.

Because all the university-educated idiots (I am referring here specifically to the idiots, not the student body in general) unquestioningly accept what they're told in the single poli sci course they're forced to take, and become very smug about it. This leads to a self-fulfilling prophecy: "I want to be a smart person, I'm going to college" -> "Wow, thanks professor Shekelstein, I didn't know being a liberal makes me a champion of humanity and a genius among mice. Good thing this man dependent on government funding for research grants is so unbiased." -> "In my new position as director of the BBC's children's shows, I think we should really show how life works. I know how life works because this is my first job after receiving an education that told me 'reality is liberal' ha ha isn't that clever? Anyway remember to indoctrinate the children correctly or you're all fired." Meanwhile all the conservative/right-wing students stay silent because the alternative is being accused of racism and ostracized, so the libtards don't even get exposure to the opposite ideas unless they have one or two professors who have tenure and are actually willing to speak their minds. The entire thing is a giant, incestuous left-wing clusterfuck.

I seem to remember Cambridge and Oxford being insufferable SJW hellholes, also. Not too sure about LSE. Is this accurate?

Racism should be based in statistics, not personal experience.

Personal experience isn't meaningful. For example, sheltered liberals only encounter blacks in college, and those blacks tend to be the top 5-10%. By their reasoning, those top 5-10% of black people are representative of all black people.

People convince themselves, through anecdotal evidence and self-delusion, that blacks are held down by white society. They see black men being killed by white men on television, all the while ignoring 10 times as many black men killing each other. They get riled up by Mike Brown and Trayvon Martin, but ignore every weekend in Chicago.

>This is how everything scientific works as well, you test an idea many times before you accept it as an appropriate method to use.

Literally every scientist uses intuition or heuristics at some point to guess what it is he or she is testing. What shocks me is just how unscientific sociological methodology is.

>And even though sociology is not hard science it's still way more scientific than Joe from the pub saying his opinion on niggers.

>And Joe will never put any kind of methodology out there for others to test, because it's only in his mind and he's not educated enough to express it in an abstract and comparable way.

I don't hate Black people and more to the point, this isn't the real issue.

When Joe from the pub installs an electrical system in a newly built house, it has to work, not just some of the time, but all the time and be safe.

When tumblrina from starbucks writes her undergraduate thesis in sociology, she knows that provided it doesn't contract the established academic paradigm in a controversial way, whatever crap she writes will not ever be subject to testing or scrutiny.

If you want to say the wealthy intelligentsia should get their way because there are more of them, fine. That's how it's going to be anyway, whether we like it or not, because as you say, there's more of them. That's why Remain is probably going to win this referendum.

But if you want to talk about who is wiser and more knowledgeable about life then it is someone who has experienced it. E.g. my grandparents who both lived through the war, my grandfather who served in both the Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy. When they say shit about how tough life was, I listen. Because I know that I have never had to endure experiences that are as scary and as challenging and as difficult as the ones they have.

Today's sheltered middle-class liberal morons who get a degree in sociology and think they know everything are just that - morons. They have never experienced anything challenging or difficult in their lives. They have never had to actually fight anybody for anything, unlike the men who went to war and had to fight with the Germans, they had to shoot them until they were dead because they would otherwise be shot first. THAT is real life. THAT is how you learn what reality is like.

Because British people want democracy? Britain is a country, not a country within the EU. British people should vote their own laws, and not be bombarded by bureaucrats who only benefit themselves. EU is 'soft' dictatorship.

British also refuse unlimited immigrants, and soon 76,000,000 free Turks (bordered by Iraq & Syria) to roam Europe. British people want security, and Europe's security is like a wall of lambs

We signed to join this as a union of trade, not 1 state. EU was meant to be a form of TTIP. But now, it's fucked.

Do you reckon that's true?

When I started university in 09/10, I took a feminism philosophy class. I thought I was on the cutting edge of social justice.

But at that time the things I was reading about were definitely NOT the majority opinion. 5% would have agreed with this stuff, probably less. Most people at uni were Abercrombie wearing lads and Ugg boot wearing girls, having banter, their common sense being whatever was common sense, instead of whatever was "progressive".

Obviously progressivism has gotten more popular in the last 5, 6, 7 years, but surely there are still rugby lads and Ugg-wearing lasses at uni right? Who come from the home counties, whose parents drive Range Rovers, who vote Tory and watch the Boat Race every year? Surely those people aren't lefty and progressive, right?
>>

To me, this vote is so symbolic, because it represents globalist nannyism vs. common sense and standing up for yourself.

AND obviously because of the immigration issue. The Remainers think unlimited immigration is good. They're nuts. Limited migration can be good, but unlimited immigration changes a country in so many ways, and these people are too stupid to realise that.

Remember anon I'm talking about Oxbridge. The application system basically boils down to personal bias since pretty much all the applicants have equal results for A-levels and GCSE's. Obviously in the more scientific fields you have fewer political biases, but people in their late teens tend towards the left even the privately educated ones.

Then when you look at the humanities it gets even worse, that's an echo chamber if I ever experienced one. Every single student at Oxford who's doing a humanity that I've met has espoused the same trash as the one before them. also i wouldn't say that the average age of the voters is a pluspoint, when its below 30.
this kids haven't seen life and barely can form a functional vision for a country.
older generations have learned from the past mistakes the country have done.

females aren't good voter at all. their lack of rationalism makes it impossible to make the best decision. they vote by feeling and emotions.

short: most in-voter are retards and shouldn't vote at all.

Don't be an idiot anon. Pretty much all military men are conservative. John McCain served in Vietnam War didn't he. That's just one famous example. Stormin' Norman Schwarzkopf was a Republican.

>considering the current gov of the UK is liberal, the military is no different.
If the liberal government got its way there would be women on the front lines. Thankfully military leaders have enough sense to stop this madness from happening.

So the upper classes are allowed to have grievances but the lower classes aren't? If the lower classes feel an institution is diminishing their livelihoods, why shouldn't they exercise their democratic right on that institution? The upper classes do the exact same thing, e.g. when they vote for a Conservative government rather than a Labour government.

>Obviously in the more scientific fields you have fewer political biases
True, I did some CS at university and they didn't give a fuck about politics

>but people in their late teens tend towards the left
I agree with that

>even the privately educated ones.
Really? I would say the proper toffs from my school, the rugger buggers, the daughters of lawyers, they were conservative.

>Then when you look at the humanities it gets even worse, that's an echo chamber if I ever experienced one.
That's absolutely true, I agree. The conservative people that I'm trying to identify though are those that do Business degrees, Sports Science, etc. Although I assume you don't have Sports Science there.

Anyway, there must be a fair few conservative PPE students right? Followers of Cameron, Boris, et al.?

My condolences, m8. I'd still like to go to LSE some day after I finish my grad studies, I hope it doesn't go completely to shit before then.

If it makes you feel any better, our schools are probably worse in that regard (or, at least, U of T has to be).

Remainers: sheltered people in desk jobs who are scared of the world outside their office and whose sole satisfaction in life comes out of their paycheck. They can't stand the thought of losing even a single penny because every penny they are paid for their enslavement defines the purpose of their life.

Leavers: people who work actual, real world, physical, difficult, risky jobs. E.g. builders, fishermen, merchant sailors, etc. Oh, and people who fought in (and/or lived through) the wars. People who know what it's like to be sitting in a wet cold trench in Northern France as bullets from people who are trying to end your life whizz over your head, and mortar shells explode all around you, any one of which could either kill you or just painfully dismember you. Or even if they didn't fight, they know what it's like to live through air-raids, the possibility of being bombed and dying on a near-weekly basis, and through rationing too, where you couldn't indulge in food, but had to eat the meagre amount of 1 egg and an ounce of butter that you were allowed to buy per week.

Yeah no it's definitely the Remainers who know what they're talking about.

> A degree
Kek
I done a degree in a politics school most "intellectuals" I met done mickey mouse degrees that focused on abortion or slut shaming. On the other hand you meet people who focus on things like wars, current affairs, history. While they might not get paid as much as people who do STEM degrees they offer good insight into the functioning of the world. Most girls who do these degrees choose the meme tier stuff and yes join the Green party. For example post stuff on Facebook about how gender roles and the family must be abolished then at christmas take selfies when they go to their middle class homes with #Ilovemyfamily

They're using the word typical here for a very misleading reason. They simply found the demographic with the highest % voting in or out. What they did not do is compile all the traits of everybody voting one way or the other.

It's like saying Red blocks are voting In and Blue blocks are voting out. Green and Yellow are voting in too and Orange and Violet are voting out but they want to paint it as a contest of only Red and Blue.
