I actually made a toast sandwhich last time we had one of these threads and it turned out great actually. though i think i did it a little differently than the tradition british way.
I toasted a piece of bread till it was nice and crunchy, then slabbed some peanut butter on there then topped that off with some local honey- put it between two slices of bread and ate away. the toast gave it a really satisfying crunch to offset the super soft pieces of bread on the outside. i'm gonna try one with cheese and salami next.
