Because none of these sources have anything to do with the government, or, like, anything official. Some random cunts are just talking shit about defcon 3. They pulled the same bullshit that one time Putin wasn't seen in public for a week or some shit, and nothing happened.
If the US military really did go into Defcon 3, it'd be a bit more public than a couple of sketchy unreliable websites saying it was so.

Cuban Missile Crisis was Defcon 2, besides Defcon 3 is worrisome but not the be all and end all.
We've been at Defcon 3 plenty of times I'd say, Able Archer, the Gulf War, Yom Kippur War, 9/11, Crimea...
