communism is basically like being a looser pothead your whole life, you find a job which is stable and offers you literally just enough to eat, pay bills, and get games/weed
you then spend/waste your whole life sitting in a pile of your own shit as more exciting things happen around you
adding robots to it is simply like receiving a welfare check instead of working, you simply remove the work, you don't actually motivate the person
so whether it works or not is irrelevant, it would destroy humanity in all meaningful ways

it might work. human nature is the primary reason communism doesn't work. take human nature out of the mix, and I have no problem with it
let's be clear. we are talking about a hypothetical situation where there are no humans. an entire world populated only with robots. throw any humans in there, and it all falls apart.

People are still going to want something to do, be it work or a hobby. Those people will then likely have more money over others, making resentment toward them likely;
Effectively, the robots would be the ultimate welfare system; people whine about the people who have more, while doing absolutely nothing about it
In any situation where Communism would technically kind of work, Capitalism would work better. Pretty much by definition.
