If 9/11 is an inside job, what is the point of the planes? A simpler plan would have been to simply cause the demolition in the towers and then report that a terrorist bomb has destroyed the towers. If you need to create a lie to get more controls on flights, your answer is also simple. The bomb was smuggled into the country, so now we must introduce the TSA to make sure no more 9-11 bombs get into the US.

the point in using steel (as opposed to metals with a high ultimate strength) is that steel has a longer period of deformation prior to fracture/failure... thus providing time for evacuation. tungsten for instance is far stronger, but is brittle like cast iron and has no deformation prior to failure. heating the steel to even half of it's melting point significantly weakens it's strength well below any factor of safety in the original structural engineers design (usually 3.0). structural steel highrises are not designed to withstand instense, uncontrolled fires, they spray on fire retardant would have prevented this... today most multistory skyscrappers have beams incased in 12" minimum concrete, unlike the WTC 1,2, & 7 buildings.

The fires inside the WTC resulting from the crashing of the planes consumed so much oxygen in so little time that the inside of the WTC where the fires were most intense was pretty much a vacuum. If you watch slowed down footage of the collapse of the towers, you can see the steel beams bending inward as the air outside exerts an intense force as it tries to enter the building to feed the flames. The result is that the upper portion of the towers fell down. The reason why the floors could not be stopped is because of the conservation of momentum, the transfer of momentum from the falling floors to the stable floors at the moment of impact added much more force to the steel beams than what they were capable of supporting, so the rest of the floors fell as well.
