How often do you guys hear people call themselves liberal when they clearly aren't

I assume they're liberal socialists most of the time but they're to stupid to say that instead of only saying liberal.

In countries where the political debate is above whooping noises, HUE-ing and throwing poo, liberalism refers more to liberty than social liberalism. The exception being the US, where it's turned into a synonym for progressive lunacy.
