Well, if Trump loses, the massive (titanic) influx of Mexican immigrants into Texas will continue. The immigrants, especially those here illegally, will unquestioningly vote Democrat and would shoot down the idea of Texas' recession.

It doesn't matter what the reason was. The confederate states could have seceded because Stonewall Jackson stubbed his toe on a tree in Ohio. The war would have been fought the same, just without the Emancipation Proclamation at the end.

Not enough. Texas is already seriously at risk of turning blue (which is only a risk if you're a Republican, I suppose) because of immigration, illegal or otherwise.
