>REMINDER FOR THE 24TH
Counts will get under way when polls close at 22:00 GMT Thursday, 23 June at 382 local centres around the UK. These local results will be declared as the counts are completed before being collated at 12 regional centres, which will also declare the totals for each side. There will be a rolling total so the time at which one side reaches the point of being mathematically unbeatable depends on how quickly the vote are counted and how close the results are running. It is a safe bet that from 4am onwards there should be pretty clear picture of which way the vote is going. A chief counting officer will announce the overall result at Manchester Town Hall. There will be no exit poll.

Most recent ones after the Cox thing had Leave level pegging with Remain at about 44% each.

Hopefully since campaigning is back on it'll perk up to over 50% again. Especially because of the PMs cock ups on QT.

Lads, have a read of this;

http://www.europarl.europa.eu/aboutparliament/en/20150201PVL00004/Legislative-powers

>The European Parliament may approve or reject a legislative proposal, or propose amendments to it. The Council is not legally obliged to take account of Parliament's opinion but in line with the case-law of the Court of Justice, it must not take a decision without having received it.

>On certain questions (e.g. taxation) the European Parliament gives only an advisory opinion (the 'consultation procedure').

Whether this is a shoop or not, I don't get this meme. Nige is in power in the EU. Leave the EU and you remove Nige from power. It's doesn't make sense not to like something just because he likes it. And fear of a Tory government isn't logical either. Not only do they appoint the UK's Commissioner to the EU, the Commission is made up of 27 other Commissioners, the vast majority of whom are appointed by heads of state much farther right than the Tories.

They were on it like a fat bint on chips the second the news broke, it was to be expected they'd make the most of it but this was too good to be true. And I wouldn't be at all surprised if his initial interviews broke every protocol about leading suspects to get the right statements out of them.

I have to admit the circumstances surrounding the murder of Jo Cox have made me genuinely uneasy. I don't think it was some MK ULTRA or Jewish or illuminati false flag, but I am creeped out all the same. A pro EU MP murdered by a Brexiteer? Her funeral to be broadcast live on the day before the referendum? The killer himself shouting the name of an obscure right wing group during the attack? All this happening just as Leave started pulling ahead? Gives me the heeby jeebies 2bh lads, if I were conducting a false flag I wouldn't do it this way for fear of being too obvious

There was something off about the media reaction as well. An MP being murdered in broad daylight should be a huge deal, but it seems like people only pretended to be sad for about a day before immediately pressing home the referendum implications. "Yeah she's dead how tragic but now let's talk about how Brexiteers are all murderous nazis" was the overwhelming impression I got. Even her husband's statement seemed weirdly political

Still I can't seriously entertain the idea that it was a conspiracy since the implications are too fucking depressing to contemplate

I don't think so. A few might be swayed, but quite frankly this country frequently polls immigration as a major issue and the majority polled always want more controls. The Tories won the last election essentially on three areas: 1. They weren't Labour or the SNP, 2. EU Referendum with many who would have otherwise voted UKIP voting Conservative to get the Referendum and 3. A pledge to reduce Immigration down to tens of thousands (which now lies in complete tatters).

yeah, im not a reptilian illuminati kind of guy but part of me really does think this is an obvious stunt to sway the vote in the remain direction rather than just an independant event not at all tied to it. A lot of power is in the balance of this referendum, including that of the EU itself, which could collapse if we leave.

Would killing an MP really be out of the bounds of scruples or power for the leaders of the EU to do in order to get thier way? Im not saying 100% that it was all planned but a lone nutter killing a highly political figure the week before the vote surely seems a bit too convenient to just be a coincendence.

Well done anon. Keep fighting the good fight.

I've been trying to share as much LEXIT stuff as possible (is that a term that has caught on yet?) - this shouldn't be the politically divisive choice that it has wound up becoming.

A Leave vote isn't a vote for right wing nationalism... far from it. It's a vote for a more democratic system - not for a conservative leadership. Why can't people see that? They've got Cameron on THEIR side for fucks sake.

I think it's been proven that Remainers are mostly brain dead simpletons bandwagoning onto the choice they feel makes them seem like a special conscientious snowflake.

I genuinely feel that there is enough debate out there to appeal to those masses - and make the Leave option seem desirable just from the stupid hipster credibility of privileged knowledge.

We've got to think like those fuckers and highlight that by voting against the EU, we're not standing WITH Farage - we're trying to prevent a major shift to the right by NOT allowing our country to become a pressure-cooker of resentment and malice... and that instead, we will begin to implement genuine social reform that would be impossible under a bureaucratic system that is undemocratic, a safehaven for big-business - and completely unaccountable.
>>
>>77849016
It's a very good point to make if people say that Brexit is a far right fantasy. Point out how EU resentment has led to far nastier parties rising across the continent, how Left wing parties have been suppressed by the EU, etc.
>>
>>77848427

>>
>>77848959

>>
>>77848889
Murdoch has said leave would benefit him so he'd back it. I mean with the Jo Cox thing and just the general feel, I have a bad feeling about this one.

The government would never leave something this big to a vote by the "uneducated masses"
>>
>>77843825
Edit out the 350 million thing. Every time I talk about the EU I get shit over that. While it's true we send that much over, we get a little bit back. Remainers love to quibble over the little bit and it exhausts the conversation and puts them in the mind that nothing Leave says is true.

I get a lot of people sayin "both sides lie" and "both sides don't give you the exact truth" while ignoring how much more Remain lies and deals with scaremongering than the official Vote Leave campaign.
>>
>>77849016
You know what pisses me off?

I've read remainers asking why are we even allowed to vote anyway. They're allowed to vote and asking why they're allowed to have it not knowing how many people died for the right to vote and to have a say on how the country is run.
>>
Lost all hope in Journalistic integrity, all media organisations, and politics as a whole throughput this campaign.
>>
>>77849245
It's true. We send roughly £350 million and get some of it back, which we cannot control where and how it's spent. If they want to disprove it, tell them to point out where the money comes from, and how it can be spent.
>>
>>77849113
It's genuinely a point I believe in.

I tend to disagree with most of /pol/'s UKIP tendencies - but the dumbest thing to do would be to stay in the EU and let the anger and malice that fuels British nationalism develop further.

People are angry and pissed off because they've had their democratic rights stripped away for decades. Fucking give it back to them.

The nation would be far more tolerable if it was autonomously accountable. Until then, resentment to the EU is just going to get worse and worse. Just put a bullet in it now and let's get on with running our country.
>>
>>77844079
>>77844191
Not only that but there's a "commission majority" of (mostly left-leaning and centrist) MEPs that have pledge to wave on through unconditionally whatever the Commission proposes.
>>
>>77849382
Same. I mean, I had barely any at all. Tiny sliver at most that was barely alive. But it's just been completely snuffed out at how pathetic they've been. If we do not Leave, I will feel absolutely despondent.
>>
>>77849462
The problem is that many on the Left do not trust the British people to vote for them and would rather work through Brussels. They're mistaken however, because Brussels will not let anything deviate them from their utopian dream of a technocratically controlled European superstate.

I've seen the same thing.

People saying "what's so bad about a massive European superstate anyway" - "what's so great about democratic accountability"?

It just flabbergasts me.

I'm voting leave because I have honestly never voted once before in my 30 years of life. This is one of the first things that I believe would actually make a difference to my political interest.

I'm never voting tory - and I'm never voting for a left wing party that wants to stay in the EU or refuses to accept that immigration should be maintained somehow.

If we remain (which I'm sure we will) - the fuckers will have no one but themselves to blame as things get worse and fucking worse - all the while slapping their stupid fucking backs in self-congratulation.

10 Economists out of hundreds of thousands. These 10 economists all of whom supported the UK joining the Euro and many of which belong to organizations funded or supportive of Brussels and the EU project.

The IMF has pulled back from it's claims and it's own figures show that the UK could have long term growth beyond that projected in the EU.

http://news.sky.com/story/1713684/imf-brexit-may-not-mean-a-british-recession

The Economist is reporting that Economists working for the IMF and the American Government, who wants Britain to stay in for it's own political interests, not ours.

The NFU has voted 2 to 1 to support Leave. In addition, we import mostly luxury goods abroad, could easily afford CAP payments and actually RAISE them outside of the EU, plus presumes that we would have difficulties with free trade or that the current WTO tariffs would be a problem (when in reality we would be better off trading with the EU under WTO tariffs than we are now).

The Music Industry wants to remain in because it wants to sign the UK up to draconian copy-writing laws and crackdown heavily on Piracy, ignoring the fact that Piracy boosts sales.

The UK tourist industry is ignoring the fact that we could keep tourist visas easily accessible outside of the EU or even encourage further tourism from outside the EU. In addition, if tourism from the continent is damaged, than domestic tourism would improve as people would visit within Britain than go to the continent if visas are imposed.

Sorry, but it's nonsense.

Colleges are hotbeds for propaganda.

I'm a student of Politics, Business and History; for a education board which supposedly wants to encourage neutral discussion and no underlying political agenda, the lectures get VERY pro-EU and I get shouted down for speaking against it.

185,000 net. Actual immigration rates are about double the net figure. Plus that's the official figure and we've seen more National Insurance numbers issued to people from the EU than are recorded entering the country on a scale of at least tens of thousands.

To put the net figure into perspective, imagine a city four times the size of Winchester coming into the country. Every year. With an increase every year. And these are the tailored figures to present as good a number as they can.
>>
>>77846256
The more i learn about cox the more i see how abhorable she was.
>>
>>77850700
Also on the EU funding issue, we get less than half of what we pay in back, and, this is the crucial part, WE CANNOT CHOOSE WHERE AND HOW THAT MONEY IS SPENT.

The EU has a record of funding stupid or poorly thought out projects, or artistic endeavors with taxpayer money; like a massive recycling plant in rural Cornwall, or interpretive dance troupes. True, some of the money does go to good use. But we could literally double the amount of money the EU assigns to Britain and still have money left over.

Remember, a vote to leave the EU is a vote to have £110 Billion pounds freed up to fund services, invest in education, research and industry, bolster the forces, pay down the national debt or take away from tax.
