Democracy is the best system when done right. The average pleb understands problems much better than the elites because they are faced with them every day, they just can't articulate it very well. The problem is that the elites have monopoly on information and can therefore manipulate people, but more importantly they can manipulate the politicians. It is obvious that politicians are more scared of the journalists and media than they are of the people and this is because the media has the power to end the career of any politician. The way to solve this is to have more direct democracy like Switzerland and make private owning of media outlets illegal. Journalists who get caught lying must also be punished.
