Going to college made me change. I graduated from a university in Seattle. I went in very liberal, but the further I got along, the more I began to see how closed minded, liberals actually are. Well I got into politics around the time when I was choosing myself a trade. By chance I actually met Paavo Arhinmäki while waiting for a train, the leader of our leftist party, and even though I was underage and pretty insufferable he talked to me like I was a real person the whole time. Immigration to here was so little at the time that it didn't even cross my mind. So we talked about workers rights and stuff like that. Back then they were campaining for a raise on minimum wage even, which sounded good to a teenager soon entering the workforce. Didn't really think about these things until I finished my conscription service, until I heard they were demanding budget cuts and even ending mandatory service. So I took a good look at the party, and how it changed during the years. Feminism, pacifism, uncontrolled immigration. Complete lack of fighting for the working man. I felt betrayed. Last I heard about our leftist party, the man I spoke to is resigning for a hardcore feminist. Fuck that.
No, women here have completely fucking equal rights, but worklife is turning to shit. We have a system for unemployed (around 400 000 here) where govt. can sing you to any private or public service where you work for 9 euros a day. This is wrong because it distorts the value of others labour. I personally was in a situation where for a few months I had to weld stuff to countrys third biggest industrial employer, for 9 euros a day. Welders hourly salary starts at 15.
Was the left campaining against this? Noooo, there were bigger issues like fighting the patriarchy, nuclear energy and fur industry. This was the last fucking straw. This was a few years ago. Now I am just completely dissillusioned by our "democrazy".

For me, it happened fairly recently. Let me tell you why I switched with a prominent issue, womens rights.
My argument for women receiving equal pay is, that women should receive it if they work as hard as a man does. In most western jobs (writing documents, selling products) there is no reason why this would be an issue.
See, contrary to my beliefs -- women want equal pay across the board, even if they don't do as much work as a man, they just want it -- end of discussion.
and this applies to many leftist stances, they want and want, and want and they're not willing to sacrifice anything for the greater good of society, they're not willing to admit wrongs nor fix those wrongs, they just want more for themselves.
They want a pay rise to $15, but they don't realize that a pay rise makes us even more noncompetitive with china, leading to a loss of jobs and business overall, because businesses can no longer afford to pay their staffing costs.
People want free education and healthcare, a healthcare system like that, in 2016, is just ridiculous at best, especially in a country like the US that buys medication from TV commercials -- even in countries like the UK who achieved it a long time ago, the impact of capitalism is leading to it becoming privatized.
Although I agree with free education, and I think it should be a very important thing, colleges in the US are driven by capitalism, they have investors like big business, they're essentially big business, and that can't be stopped now.
We, in the western world need to finally understand our faults and fix our issues, and being a leftist only further adds to issues, doesn't fix anything, and longterm may make things even worse.

Feminists discredit evolutionary biology because it's a threat to their existence.

Growing up in Vancouver, unless you're home schooled and completely shut in, you have absolutely zero chance of not getting liberal ideologies shoved down your throat every day.

I can't fully remember, but I always kept my distance from the left. For most of my life, I've had confidence issues; but in several ways, those issues kept me from wanting to put my heart fully into just about anything really. I think in many ways, it also saved me from committing fully to the modern day Liberal agenda, or whatever the fuck you can call it today.
Because of my distancing from such matters, I liked to think I was pretty objective even back then, but it got even more focused in college. I began to question more about myself the whole time, asking, "How can I call myself open minded if I won't listen to a Nazi, or a white supremacist?" Not being able to argue out of that double think, I tried to listen to the messages. I even explained to several liberal friends why I did it too. Fortunately, we still talked back then too after that, and I wasn't "shunned" per say.
It took a few more straws to seal the deal. The first was the Zimmerman incident when Zimmerman who was Hispanic was labeled as white in order to aggravate. Watching even more, I articulated exactly how the media is manipulative. All they do is present a narrative and push it in every incident that happens, whether or not the incident supports that narrative.
The part that pushed me to the event horizon was when I got confirmation of pic related's Holocaust denial. I would have dismissed it as conspiracy if it were a Neo-Nazi who said it. But this was by a Jew- and a Rabbi at that.
Then I browsed pol some more, and began to collect the memes with cited sources on them. I'm still working on confirming citations, but I'll be damned if the rabbit didn't dig an abyss of a hole.

As I started listening, I heard people like Glenn Beck and Mark Levin talking about issues that I had learned since 9/11, and while I think that most of the talking heads are completely stupid and off base, I realized that they are trying to tell people the truth, even if it's through a red lens.
The more I listened, the more my perspective widened. Now I don't know what to believe anymore, but at least I know that both sides of this story are just as boring and stupid as the other, and that there is nothing to trust other than what you believe is true. What you see, experience, and learn creates the ideas that you proliferate, and there is no such thing as a binary "conservative" or "liberal." There are only people and the masters who tell them what to think, on either side.

I get pissed when certain Conservative heads don't give the time to the opposition to communicate their view, but when viewed as a whole you can see that these people have been burned so many times by offering holes for their guests that they simply don't have the patience to hear it any longer. I am ok with the blaring "GO RED" points that they beat into their shows because I'm red pilled to them, and most of the time I just laugh or change the channel.

I also wanted to add, I had a moment during the Occupy movement that changed my perspective on rebellion enmasse. New Orleans joined the Occupy movement and I learned about it online. They were having their first rally, and I was in town, so I decided to go. I figured there would be some good discussion about the monetary system, that I'd learn some new things about what the plans were to expose the banking cartels, etc. Instead I saw the group get hijacked, almost instantly, by leftist groups who wanted to commit violence against police officers. I hate getting stopped by the police as much as anyone, but I also recognize that they are humans, and not all of them are bad. This violence and clear disregard for the actual message behind Occupy is what lead the media to manipulate and control the movement from the beginning, and was also what caused its demise. If we were going to start lighting torches and burning buildings, we should have started at the initial target, not the police force or local government. Now every time I see college students protesting, I immediately care less.
I recall a rally I went to to protest Higher Education cuts. We stood outside with our signs, did our chants. Cameras started rolling, he gave a speech that we had never heard to the camera about what his ideas were, of course we were the backdrop. After the speech he turned to the group and said "Ok, that's great everyone. Thanks for coming out!" and the group simply broke up and left.

What exactly are those checks and balances that ensure that government won't become corrupt? If it's not the people, the structure that controls the government simply becomes the new government, but government's function is akin to immune system's function in human body, it must have power to remove undesirables who undermine the nation. Therefore we need a balance between government's and people's power. You can't simply leave government unchecked, because once it becomes corrupt (for example through infiltration), it will start harming nation. That's how we have a government vs people fight. It is a system designed to keep both people and government healthy.

I had to do three papers for my college english class.
Before I was a democrat, the subjects were about Trumps success with the white middle class, the second was about immigration and why its good, the third was about education attainment for minorities vs whites.

When I asked the teacher, she said it was because I solved a problem in a completely different way from what she had taught us.

I'm a Texan. I was always interested in history and politics from a young age. Especially Dubya Dubya Two. Since I was 10 years old.
Anyways, as I read and read more -- I became interested in Germany. Then the NSDAP/Nazi Party. Then I became a bit of a Wehraboo from 18-20.
Five years later I'd call myself a National Socialist. And I'm very critical of Germany for fucking shit up and leaving Europe in the condition it is in today.

Went from Leftist to Libertarian after studying up game theory. Made me realize that no matter how much someone tries to be virtuous, they will always screw over society if they can get a tangible advantage. Made me introspect and realize that many leftist beliefs were hypocritical at best.
I went to college in New Orleans. It made me realize why a strong, brutal and scary police force is necessary. Not all blacks are terrible, but the ones that are need to be kept in check. Same for white trash. People there are extremely nice, but its because there are too many niggers and rednecks causing trouble.
Because I was deeply suffering when I was a leftist, and an atheist with that of course (because those two basically always go together). I was trying to find my way while I was a teen and got caught up with a group of SJW sodomites in the meantime. Dyed my hair red, pierced my nose, started doing drugs and alcohol, even thought I was a lesbian during that time. Gladly enough I quickly got out of it as I started getting really depressed, and my depression only worsened later on because I thought there really is no hope for humanity. Mainly because before them I went through my normie phase and hung out with normie teens with whom I was also dissapointed, so now I came to know that both sides are equally degenerate.
All changed once my father told me about the "Triumph of the Will" which I watched out of pure curiosity. The goy guilt hit really strongly once the film was finished, I was genuinely amazed by it. Started researching on the topic. Came to know that the leftie politics are a Jewish swindle which turned humanity into this degenerate lump that caused me so much frustration before. Came to know of the excellence humanity is possible of achieving under good sense of nationalism and faith. Came to know of the amazing history of my country and my people. Came to know of the beauty of Orthodox Christian Faith. Got baptized and finally became a part of Christ's Church.
