I'm planning on going on a trip there in the New year to scout the island out properly. The main issue apart form women is land ownership, but the first year we will rent and assimilate with locals, so they don't get freaked out about us emigrating there.

That's why I'm going in the beginning of the new year, will save money till then and if after the trip it is all good, work another 6 months and then leave permanently. The main issue to work out is property ownership. Also With it being a French territory I can see some economic benefits, such as import/export French wine tax-free. It seems like the perfect isolated island.

Cool dude, we are discussing mainly atm, I am going on a scouting mission in the new year. Also Nuku Hiva infrastructure is relatively built up already, so its not going to be a Swiss family Robinson adventure. We just need to integrate with the locals so they accept our presence and then try build the economy from there.
