The fundamental problem with Sweden is the centralization. As soon as the politicians get some idiotic idea they force it upon every branch of government in some fashion. And every crucial part of the society is only run by the government. Even the things that are "privatized" still get their orders from government, and if they don't comply they get shut down. There is NO way to escape it. And every attempt to decentralize things is met with even more centralization.
They are planning to shrink the number of regions in Sweden even further because places like Malmö can't handle the fucking mess they got. They are nearing this fucking cliff at which point they can't centralize and in their eyes "effectivize" Sweden any further, and at that point we are fucked.
I'm not sure if I can keep watching this.

The government and its branches sets up goals for every department under it, it also hires the people in charge for them.
How are they not in charge? Thats like if you were a CEO of a company and started hiring people who were shit at their job and then just saying you aren't responsible. You don't have personal control over what said individual does. But you set up the framework and then pick the person who you best think can achieve it. Thats what they do in Sweden.
