After all my looking into it, I don't know what to believe. I believe it's a fact that the gas chamber stories are all false and a lot of it was propoganda, but whether or not there was an attempted extermination seems to be go either way.
Also, the world population databooks from a few years after the war seem to indicate about a 6 million drop in the Jewish population.. that honestly is the best evidence for the 6 million number I've found... there doesn't seem to be other direct evidence...
