because the rebels hold a large portion of important parts of Syria and are within perfect striking distance of the SAA. ISIS is already getting fucked in Iraq and the Manbij area, so SAA should wait until ISIS is weaker before they attack.
SAA is never going to be able to gain the upper hand once and for all while we have huge pockets of rebels in Idlib and Daraa
Most of what ISIS controls is just the villages around the Euphrates river. Rebelshits on the other hand are entrenched all over the Syrian heartland.

I hope Tiger Forces actually capture Anadan Plains in North Aleppo or even do something.
And Latakia shit, just SAA go without heavy equipment to those areas, so FSA/Nusra now put on their heavy weapons to make SAA left the area, and know SAA know what they have and what they would need to defeat militants in the area, just one SAA soldier die today.
>roommate is watching Fox with i think Brett Bear or some other faggot host
Some ClintonCore bitch is whining saying how evil Assad is and how he's "using chemical weapons".
When will these pieces of shit stop lads?
They're never going to stop funding them I get that, but when will they stop lying about a conflict that anyone who watches televised news in the US gives 0 fucks about?
New to the /sg/ threads.
What's your guys' honest opinion about Rojava? I feel like Rojava/Western Kurdistan is a good movement now, and from what I saw on Vice, they weren't in an open war with Assad - actually allowed a SAA base in the heart of their controlled territory. The Rojavans aren't like the FSA, they don't pal around with terrorists and Al Nusra, but there's a shaky relationship with the Iraqi Peshmerga, who often arrests foreign fighters who return from Syria assisting the Rojava YPG.
Tbh I was almost considering joining after Orlando, but I can't justify it, thinking they could be an established terrorist group 20 years down the road, if they ever full-on turn against Turkey.

>>77662096
I have no problem with the kurds. I love how they have female fighters, how they kill Rebels and ISIS, I loved how they helped SAA end the rebel siege on Nubbl.
My problem with the kurds is that whole "Autonomous Syrian Kurdistan" bullshit. it's no coincidence how "rojava" is on all the oil/natural gas fields.
The federalist kurds just want to steal Syria's natural resources.
>>77656486
Here My grain of salt ..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_9SXtEWlxc
>>77662409
From what I understood about the region, that might be a reason, but not as good of a one as I'd like. Their relationship with Assad is so that they're autonomous, not independent; Most of the money goes to finance their operations and infrastructure, but ideally they'd share it with the rest of Assad's Syria. Similar to Iraqi Kurdistan, essentially independent but still an integral part of the country.
Also, it was the Turks who caused the war. Rojava was a major farming area, a breadbasket for Syria. When Turks cut off dams and the water supplies and electricity in the middle of a drought, the entire country suffered, crops died, wasn't it like 85% of cattle died? Backwards Arab farmers were all displaced to the major cities, and Turks did this knowing that this would threaten Assad's power.
tl;dr I don't like Turkey
>>77663056
The Kurds are not the only ethnic minority, so why should they get this special autonomous region all for themselves?
I have no problem with them being proud of their heritage or them wanting more representation in the government, but splitting Syria into two parts is the most ridiculous thing ever.
I like the Kurds, but if they ever try to split Syria, my support for them will end in that instant.
But so far, they're killing ISIS, they're killing Rebelshits, so I think most of the Kurd hatred on /sg/ is unwarranted.
>Syria Rebels seized important Tilalayn town from Daesh in northern Aleppo near Dabiq
DABIQ SOON
>>77662409
>I love how they have female fighters
so you love the turkish armed forces as well then
>>77663056
>turkey cut off water to syria
*syrians claim that turkey cut off the water to syria
reality is that the whole region is experiencing an increase in drought, especially central anatolia where it is said by experts that it will turn to a desert in the future
>>77662096
For me Assad's Syria comes before all and the Kurds are a distant third after the New Syrian Meme Army. The Kurds have a special snowflake mentality, and they have zero respect for any of the alliances they made and with that said, the Kurds are ready to stab anyone in the back whenever it best suits them.
After Syria and Russia are done wiping out ISIS and the FSA, the Kurds should be next (I see no problems with working Turkey to accomplish that common objective too).
Pic unrelated but if anyone is interested it is a new modification of the Sprut air droppable gun system for the VDV.
>>77663898
I'd like the Turkish army if they killed rebels
>>77663898
Turkey has a habit of sending weapons to the hands of ISIS, knowingly or unknowingly. Just the other day, I saw a report that showed Turks were treating wounded IS members after driving them over the border with guaranteed safe passage.
They want Assad out of power for some reason, but they can't openly declare war. So they give weapons to rebel groups secretly that they know would just turn them into Daesh.
On sort of a different note, what do you guys think about American neocons' opinions of Syria?
>"I dunno if sand can glow, but we'll find out! Yeehaw!"
>"I say carped-bomb the whole country, then we'll see who's boss."
>"We should fly airplanes with pigs blood over all of the ISIS strongholds."
It seems like answers third graders would give, too simple, and it's not just republicans - Pretty much nobody in American politics has any fucking clue what's going on over there, and it doesn't seem too hard to understand.
>>77664209
>Turks were treating wounded IS members
it is illegal to execute people
turkey also raids isis cells, with a recent raid ending in the arrest and life-imprisonment of multiple foreign isis members in turkey
not to mention all the bombings against isis in syria/iraq
not to mention that turkey was the first country to recognize isis as an terrorist organization
turey=isis is a fucking meme
turkey is against assad because his family armed pkk terrorists in turkey before, long before this war-time
he is an enemy, that is why the government is arming rebels against him
>>77664657
>the government is arming rebels against him
it will come back to bite them. Turkey could've helped Assad put down the rebellion quickly and there wouldn't be any YPG on the Syria-Turkey border
>>77664932
we don't know what will happen with turkey-ypg in the future

Internet is slow as shit so pic won't load
The Syrian Arab Army’s 104th and 137th brigades have been under siege in the Deir Ezzor Governorate for over a year now, with little to no reinforcements available to relieve their embattled and exhausted soldiers.
Making matters worse in the Deir Ezzor Governorate, the Syrian Arab Army has constantly been under attack by the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS), leaving the government units on high alert almost every day.
However, this situation is expected to change in the coming weeks as Hezbollah mobilizes its elite units to help protect the provincial capital of Deir Ezzor and liberate several areas under the Islamic State’s control.

It makes sense to focus on firepower and mobility in an airdropped unit rather than protection.
Airborne assaults are conducted behind the front line, not on it. There are generally no heavy assets in the rear area. So the enemy there will be reliant upon organic infantry borne anti-tank assets, rather than you know, tanks.
Sure if you move your tanks back to deal with these guys, they wont stand a chance, but that means moving assets off of the front-line, where an attack will be ongoing at the same time. You are too focused in thinking that these units operate in complete isolation of others or a grand strategy.
Also you must remember that even light armour is a huge asset when your opponent has no armour in the area.

That's what happens when arab blood is mixed with power
De Gaulle said: "Tous ces bicots se chamaillent. Ils aiment les fusils, ils aiment s'en servir. Ils ont la manie de la fantasia"
(You're romanian, therefore you speak french)
Ever wondered why the Koran was revealed to them?: pigheaded people beget pigheaded coercitive religion, and the love of strong leaders who break and lead them
It is not a problem and can even be a boon if said leaders (wordly AND spiritual) are benevolent
But thanks to the West and its Military-Industrial Complex, every arab leader that started to show qualities pertaining to that trait was removed from power :^)

ok that does it. this semen slurping war is not for me. these people are so incompetent it makes the autist in me rage. they got all the support and all the superiority needed to wage war and they are losing everywhere. on top of that, the fronts were they are advancing are moving on ww1-trench warfare speeds. russia is also proving to be very weak "protector", if usa was backing a dictator to defeat some rebels you can bet that the war would be over very quick. compare iraq with saa for example.

So it seems like a lot of you are pro-Assad and anti-rebel, so let me ask you a question.
How do you see this war ending?
The truth is, you want to go back to a Syria which is simply no longer exists.
You cannot return to the old ways, with the Baathists grinding down the Islamists, the Islamists grinding down the democrats and the democrats trying to overthrow the Baathists. That fragile ecosystem is shattered. And there can be no reconciliation.
So what is the alternative?

>>77698627

>>77698937
Was hoping for a serious answer.
I'm thinking an ad hoc partition. The entire of eastern Syria will become the equivalent of massive Gaza Strip in the heart of the Middle East. Constant bombings, periodic invasions by Assad or Iranian backed Iraq and a breeding ground for terrorism.
>>77698627
YPG complete the creation of the Kurdish lebensraum, cleanse Manbij and make junction with PKK, crushing the last Rebel pockets north of Aleppo.
>SAA secure southern Euphrate territory from Aleppo to Deir Erzor, or manage to break Deir Ezzor free/evacuate the city if things are turning brown.
>Deal reached between Kurds and SAA: YPG will slack off, skirmishing nothern Raqqua from time to time, or cutting the roads to the city, while SAA will try to conquer it from the south.
>SAA will slowly cleanse rest of Rebel pockets over the next decade.
>End.
>>77699207
>end
It never ends.
Your hero worship of the YPG is hilarious. It will be so satisfying to watch when America betrays them.
>>77699204
If there will be partition to seperate the worst islamists there would be an Idlib and a Daraa "Islamic State"
But fuck them and fuck their state. The Kurds can have some increased autonomy, the Syrian government should continue reforms to be more democratic and modern, and the Islamists can fuck off tbqh
The difficulty lies in combining democracy with making the Islamists fuck off. If you tell Islamists that their shit party cant enter Syrian politics, then the West is still going to cry that the "Syrian government is not inclusive whaawhaa"
All in all Im having difficulty seeing a solution, but then again one should keep in mind: most population centers and population are in Syrian government areas RIGHT NOW, and the safer areas have a functioning daily life for the people. In a sense, the Syrian state never stopped functioning.
>>77675758
>Syrian security services
>scary, psychotic fuckers but the only ones with a complete picture of what is actually going on inside Syrian chapter of ISIS
This made me kek. The "psychotic fuckers" is spot-on, but they are neither scary nor have even a distant idea of what they are doing. They are really just a bunch of retards who can only molest weak-hearted Syrian intellectuals within Damascus.
It is either the USA or the Russians who are trying to blow up high-ranking rebels. The former does this to clean up for their new favorites (the Kurds) while the latter does this for reasons that should be quite obvious.
>>77699278
>>77699278
With which army. Turks? They won't set a foot in northern Syria, their main concern are the PKK and Kurds terrorists inside Turkey. ISIS is doomed, and so are Rebel pockets.
SAA? If they manage to take back Raqqua or Deir Ezzor, I doublt there will be any possibility for SAA to turn on the Kurds. It simply is too late for that. Their supply lines are already fucken stretched.
So yeah, all I see is the YPG getting what it wants, simply because the US wills it and fully support it. Erdogan said YPG shouldnt get Manbij. Obama told him to fuck off. YPG are like all arab troops: weak and poorly trained; The coalition gives them all the planes and bombing run they can wish. Even sending support units on the ground to designate targets.
NATO start pounding gov forces when?
http://www.washingtonsblog.com/2015/10/seymour-hershs-news-report-banned-in-u-s-is-finally-confirmed-in-turkey.html
>The news-report that the famed investigative journalist Seymour Hersh could not find an American publisher for, and that was consequently published only in Britain, has now been publicly confirmed by a research study into the matter, a study whose findings were made public on October 21st by a committee of Turkey’s parliament and published that day in Turkey’s leading newspaper, Zaman.
>The question being investigated here was who caused the sarin gas attack in Ghouta, Syria, on 21 August 2013, that killed over a thousand victims, and that U.S. President Barack Obama has used as his basis for going to war to bring down Syrian President Bashar al-Assad?

The Syrian al-Qaeda branch, Jabhet al-Nusra, said that 125 of its jihadists have been killed in Aleppo and Latakia battlegrounds in the past 12 days (since the beginning of the Holy month of Ramadan).
The group’s official account on social media reported that the slain jihadists were killed fighting the Syrian Army and allies in northern and southern Aleppo, northern Latakia (close to the Turkish borders).
The death toll doesn’t include yesterday’s casualties when the ultraconservative group lost dozens of fighters while storming the government-held town of Khalasah, southern Aleppo.
