Mormons more likely to marry, have more children than other U.S. religious groups
http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2015/05/22/mormons-more-likely-to-marry-have-more-children-than-other-u-s-religious-groups/
Mormons also tend to have more children than other groups. Mormons ages 40-59 have had an average of 3.4 children in their lifetime, well above the comparable figure for all Americans in that age range (2.1) and higher than any other religious group. Overall, Mormon adults have an average of 1.1 children currently living at home, nearly double the national average (0.6).

I was invited to the church/temple whatever, went and was approached by two missionaries. I said I wanted to just observe and they asked to sit next to me.
I met with them in my house a few times after that. Seemed like nice people but then they started calling/texting at all hours of the day, asking if I would go to the next church, asking to come over again.
It went on like this for some time. I told them I needed time for reflection. Then I told them to leave me alone. I almost needed to tell them I was going to call the police.
That was my experience with Mormons.

Recycled Gnosticism
Although there are important differences between ancient Gnosticism and Mormonism, the similarities are striking. They both replace biblical Christianity with a very elaborate set of legends and esoteric teachings found, for Mormons, in the fanciful tales of The Book of Mormon and the teachings of Joseph Smith.
Like some ancient Gnostics, Mormons believe in the preexistence of souls, a doctrine contrary to Scripture and condemned by the Church at the Fifth Ecumenical Council, Constantinople II in 553. The secrecy of the temple rites of Mormonism is a parallel to the secret knowledge of ancient Gnosticism.
However, Mormonism differs from ancient Gnosticism in one major way. Gnosticism considered the physical world so evil that many Gnostics denied the Incarnation, teaching instead that Christ only seemed to have a physical body (a doctrine called Docetism). The Latter Day Saints, on the other hand, exalt matter over spirit, believing that matter is eternal.
Although the Scriptures teach that God is spirit (John 4:24), the Latter Day Saints believe that God has a body of flesh and bones. Indeed, they believe that the god of this world is an exalted man who became a god. Finally, they believe that by following the beliefs and practices of the Mormon religion, they too may become gods ruling over their own worlds.
>>77649932
They sound based as fuck though. Are they still anti-nig nog?

Eh, gods with some power. Not as much power as the Almighty God. It's how the egyptian priests could turn their staves into snakes against Moses. It's also why Moses's stave, the single serpent, consumed all the other serpents. Ours is the Almighty God, but theirs have some power still.
>>77650822
Every soul named in the Old Testament went to hell. God saw his creation like humans see bacteria. He physically couldn't bring himself to care about us. Eventually, I guess he got a wild hair up his ass, and decided to make himself a human to see what the fuss was about. Setting foot in man's shoes apparently taught him compassion, and since Hell is a sentence, a promise, he undid his eternal damnation of mankind by sacrificing himself in flesh.
Essentially, Christians think that the god they worship is the one who came around and undid his contempt for us. The Jews, who are mostly atheist, but some are orthodox, say that Jesus wasn't the real messiah, which implies they still see humanity as evil and wicked and want to do away them. This is where ye olde christians said Jews worshiped satan.
Muslims turned the then most popular religion at the time into an excuse for decadence and arab nationalism after the death of their """prophet"""
So, no not really. They worship different aspects of the same mythos, but in each religion, god plays a very different role.

I've read it, it's a great work of fiction, but it's just that.
Elephants, horses and silk in the new world. That's just the normal bullshit Mormon's have to believe in. That's not even dealing with the fact that a community of Jews supposedly traveled across the ocean in a wooden submarine that used rocks for light. Then they built the temple of Solomon mark 2 in a matter of a couple of years with like, 40 people, even though the first one took more than half a century with thousands of slaves.
I mean, my people have done a lot of great things, but it seems unlikely that we did any of this.

It's all so tempting though.
I'm split between:
-writing up a religion that blends good Christian values with a Buddhist mentality and tempers everything with lessons of reason, decency and realistic perspectives.
In the end I'd try for something that would accept reform and improve upon absolutely anyone from the most psychotic CEO to the lowest basement dwelling pedo and offer them a way to life that will fulfill their biological human nature and have them live good, meaningful and mutually beneficial lives with the rest of society, not just despite their flaws but even including them. A perfect human society where all needs of the animal are met.
-on the other hand, it would be much easier to any kind of shamanic cult around Kek, Baal, Dionysus, etc., and just lather it obscure and abstract concepts and systems of prayer and meme magic. That could be extremely strong, interesting, attractive to the unsatisfied and could fulfill the need for adventure and novelty.
We could even have virgin sacrifice(where you sacrifice the maiden's actual virginity on an altar, lol) and roman style drunken worship orgies, meme magic sessions and secret gathering thingies and etc.
This one however would fizzle out quickly and is a bitch to maintain without incorporating bankers and other rich donors behind closed doors.
Each one is tempting and could work really well but I need to decide.

Because in the late 70s Mormons lifted the prohibition on blacks, aka children of Cain, capitulating to worldly politics and in the processes, becoming the whore of Babylon.
More recently, they've opened the missionary to women and allowed women to lead the congregation in prayer.
The congregation at which I'm an investigator has full blown African children being adopted into white families, and encourages 'spic parishioners to breed out of control. I don't approve but feel this is the closest thing to a pro-white anti-feminist congregation I'll ever find.

1. Don't get baptized until you're really ready.
2. Don't do anything outrageously wrong.
3. If you do, be repentant.
4. Families need to realize that even the WT says that families can interact with df'ed ones for 'necessary family business'. This leaves a certain amount of leeway. I won't get into what the scriptures say at this point, but one always must obey one's own conscience when it comes to scriptural interpretation also.

Haha dont even get me started on your hearsay. You alter the bible which is specifically called against. The new testament was written in Greek so when you go in and take out Adonai and put Jehovah even if its just a title you're sinning plus each name of God denotes something special which you take away and loose meaning.
Plus youve predicted the worlds end wrong a bunch of times
Heaven is for more people than you say
You deny the Trinity

All religions operate on faith. The Mormons are a special brand of retarded because they're less than 200 years old with physical proof in their doctrine. And when they can't produce this physical proof they get completely btfo by anyone with a shred of logical thinking.
So they're less viable than any other form of Christianity, they've just had demagogues and use intense social pressure to override the logic. So they're basically liberals.
>>77653619
Bible wasn't written on permanent metal that doesn't corrode. Your move.
>>77653126
You don't know what you are talking about.
Adonai is a Hebrew word, not a Greek word. How then was it in the 'New Testament'? Our Bible is accurate, much more so than the King James or other ancient translations. Jehovah is put back generally when there is a quotation from the Hebrew Scriptures where the divine name occurred. I'll give you a clue- where your Bible inserts LORD they've taken the divine name out. Your Bible is an abomination.
Jesus clearly said, 'the meek shall inherit the Earth'. Psalm 37:11 'The righteous shall inherit the Earth'
The Trinity is a false dogma. Jesus said, 'The Father is greater than I" John 14:28, the trinity was introduced by pagan Roman Emperors to satisfy their own pretensions to godhood and to appeal to platonists
We aren't pacifists, we are neutral. We support divine warfare, just as the Hebrews did

the miracle of forgiveness is a book that teaches mormons to self loathe for causing Jesus pain. it even goes into detail on how awful masturbation is because it makes jesus cry. and anything thats not sex in the missionary position for the sole purpose of procreation
mormon doctrine has a lot of "deep doctrine" and old doctrines that have since been whitewashed. one example is that black people in the prelife were on the fence, and that's why they were marked with dark skin to signal they weren't valiant in the pre-earth life in the "war" of choosing satan vs jesus.

Philosophical systems are not all logical. Take for example 'Objectivism'. Or logical positivism. Or existentialism (although I am a fan of Kierkegaard who really had nothing to do with existentialism).
Even evolutionism. We are told that science only believes that which can be observed, replicated and is a 'falsifiable hypothesis'. Essentially, macroevolution is none of these things. The fossil record is by a massive margin more gaps than 'links' and the links that exist are somewhat questionable. For example, the lungfish cannot be fit neatly into the fish>amphibian diagram. It has no known successors and predecessors and seems to lie outside the linear 'progression' anyway.
Also, even though we have billions of organisms to observe and have been doing so with instruments for centuries, we cannot observe macroevolution or anything like it. The best we have observed (apparently) is more black moths appearing rather than white (although the black moths already existed, they aren't even a mutation) and a bacterium which in about 100,000 generations started to synthesize an enzyme. Wow, I'm sure in several quintillion generations its sure to reach sentience. Shame that 100,000 generations is more than even the most ambitious carbon daters attribute to the line of 'homo' species

We also have ancient scrolls of the Greek scriptures going back millenia, ditto for the Hebrew Scriptures. There are also many copies in whole or in part of many Bible books. The canon was accepted by spirit guided Christians, including the apostles, who wrote most of the 'NT' and who witnessed to the inspiration of the books we have. Many of the so-called Church Fathers of the early 2nd century were personal disciples of the apostles (of course, they were really disciples of Jesus) like Polycarp who grew up at the 'feet of John' in Smyrna

>>77654220
Interesting, I did know that black people were said to have 'the mark of Cain' and that sort of thing
A lof of the history of the Bible is verifiable too anon, even we can infer evidence for some of the supernatural events. For example, Jerusalem obviously wasn't destroyed by the Assyrians under Sennacherib. Somehow the Jews survived the Babylonian onslaught and returned to Palestine. Also Jesus followers certainly believed he did miracles since they were dying for their beliefs almost straight away, and Tacitus verifies this fact. There obviously was a notable Christian community in Palestine before 70 as Josephus attests to this.

The maya had a bible too
"This is the first account, the first narrative. There was neither man, nor animal, birds, fishes, crabs, trees, stones, caves, ravines, grasses, nor forests; there was only the sky. The surface of the earth had not appeared. There was only the calm sea and the great expanse of the sky. There was nothing brought together, nothing which could make a noise, nor anything which might move, or tremble, or could make noise in the sky. There was nothing standing; only the calm water, the placid sea, alone and tranquil. Nothing existed. There was only immobility and silence in the darkness, in the night. Only the creator, the Maker, Tepeu, Gucumatz, the Forefathers, were in the water surrounded with light. [...] Then Tepeu and Gucumatz came together; then they conferred about life and light, what they would do so that there would be light and dawn, who it would be who would provide food and sustenance. Thus let it be done! Let the emptiness be filled! Let the water recede and make a void, let the earth appear and become solid; let it be done. Thus they spoke. Let there be light, let there be dawn in the sky and on the earth! There shall be neither glory nor grandeur in our creation and formation until the human being is made, man is formed. [...] First the earth was formed, the mountains and the valleys; the currents of water were divided, the rivulets were running freely between the hills, and the water was separated when the high mountains appeared. Thus was the earth created, when it was formed by the Heart of Heaven, the Heart of Earth, as they are called who first made it fruitful, when the sky was in suspense, and the earth was submerged in the water."[11]
Together, the gods attempted to create living beings so that they may be praised and venerated by their creation. Their first attempts (animals, mud man, and wooden man) proved unsuccessful because they lacked speech, souls, and intellect.
>>77655282
"This the Forefathers did, Tepeu and Gucumatz, as they were called. After that they began to talk about the creation and the making of our first mother and father; of yellow corn and of white corn they made their flesh; of cornmeal dough they made the arms and the legs of man. Only dough of corn meal went into the flesh of our first fathers, the four men, who were created. [...] And as they had the appearance of men, they were men; they talked, conversed, saw and heard, walked, grasped things; they were good and handsome men, and their figure was the figure of a man."[12]
Women were created later while the first four men slept.

In regards to macroevolution, I can only that there would be factors that would increase genetic mutation, and these factors would only be present at either certain times or places or in certain circumstances.
You're right tho.
But even without perfect logic, those schools would still be based off some form of reason, there would be things that lead up to those ideas and reasons for creating and applying them.
As for a logical religion, I guess in that case it would probably be called common sense?

Not only this, but God obeyed himself, served himself, and didn't follow his own will but only that of himself.
He said at Luke 22:42 ""Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done."
Or as 1 Corinthians 15:24-28 (NASB) says
"24then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power. 25For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. 26The last enemy that will be abolished is death. 27For HE HAS PUT ALL THINGS IN SUBJECTION UNDER HIS FEET. But when He says, “All things are put in subjection,” it is evident that He is excepted who put all things in subjection to Him. 28When all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to Him, so that God may be all in all. "
Somehow God puts the son's enemies under the son's feet, then gives the kingdom back to his father and is subject to his father and recognizes his Godship over him, yet the son is equal to the father? This is utter absurdity and obscurantism

Yes, you are right. If you've read my posts you will realize I am a JW. JW theology is highly logical if you examine it. There are points honestly that I believe could be refined in the light of scripture and common sense, but I have no authority to change these points. At any rate, I do admit that faith is not something that can be acquired by reason/logic alone, but must be consistent with these.
I do believe in a Kierkegaardian 'leap of faith' which can come when the head and the heart are nourished and satisfied in a praticular worldview. Also, the divine experience is a real thing, or at least this is what my senses in combination with my heart and head and certain lived experiences tell me

Is that an 'argument by authority'? Trouble is, as well as being inherently fallacious, such an argument relies at least in part on the 'authority' actually having some credibility or expertise, whereas your posts remind me of the drivel of a 2 year old with a crayon. Not to mention your grammar, spelling and general sentence construction. True the apostles were 'unlettered and ordinary' but they could write properly.
>>77656168
I read the earlier version of this, this seems comprehensive and enormously tldr. However the basic point that the fossil record is at best ambiguous in implying macroevolution stands. I did a long newgroup post decades ago debunking the list of fossils from this site (on the ng talk.origins, ironically) and I made the point that many of the so-called intermediate fossils were very incomplete, sometimes even a tooth or a part of a bone.
Also I don't find the 'nested hierarchies' hypothesis all that convincing. We can find such things in abstract concepts or in physical artifacts. Musical instruments made by man are in a sort of nested hierarchy. For example, the strings are all more like other stringed instruments, there are different types of violins but the violins are more like other violins which are more like other stringed instruments and so on.
This could be an example of typology and on that basis you could check out the work of Michael Denton (or Paul Davies) who I enjoy. His argument is basically that members of the cat genus for example are more like other cats than anything, and are inherently cat whether they are lions or house cats. The gaps are too great to encompass and cats always have been and always will be cats. But this is a very rough precis I'm sure you'd get far from reading his books

There is no brainwashing. You are mistaking high levels of belief for brainwashing. In any case, there is no mechanism for brainwashing. There are only the meetings and bible studies.
Something that has been there since the beginning, and always present in 'high commitment' religions, is something like Organizationalism. I do observe this, where the organization becomes almost inspired. Actually JWs do not teach this (many other religions do). It has never been said that the Governing Body or whoever are more than merely men.
One needs to retain one's own thinking/critical faculties when one enters into an organization. We believe though that what we have is 'the Truth'. I have known some JWs who as a result have parked their critical/thinking faculties at the door.

Brainwashing has nothing to do with critical thinking, in fact it uses these faculties to work. It's mostly reserved for people who join in adulthood since those who are born into it can be satisfied with education and regular indoctrination.
The purpose of that organization is not faith.
If it can't be done in private as it's done in the group then it's not a stable belief.

Look at the 1st century Christians. They were an extremely high commitment group who saw everything in terms of their worldview, their interactions with other Christians, outsiders, events in their lives, geopolitics. This was because they adamantly believed what they were saying was true.
Other than this, can you be a little more specific in your observations of how people manifest these symptoms? Please.

1914 : Failed Watchtower Prophecy
One of the most misleading statements in Watchtower publications is that they accurately foretold 1914 to be the “start” of the conclusion of this system of things. Rather, 1914 was predicted to be the “end” of the system of things, the conclusion of Armageddon and the start of the earthly paradise.
What Watchtower said prior to 1914
>"The year A.D. 1878 … clearly marks the time for the actual assuming of power as King of kings, by our present, spiritual, invisible Lord - …"
The Time is At Hand (1911 ed) p.239
http://www.jwfacts.com/images/the-time-is-at-hand-1911-p239.jpg
>"But bear in mind that the end of 1914 is not the date for the beginning, but for the end of the time of trouble.

Keep reading God's word and make the truth your own and in time you will recive many blessings from Jehovah God
Pic also related, about a year ago some Anon said he was studying the Bible with JW's. Not sure what happen to him but hopefully he got baptized

I know all this. So? They predicted that 1914 would be the end of the world, rather it was the end of an era.
Why don't you go back to your website and post some more inane and preposterous drivel. Or better still move on with your life.

Because all Biblical manuscripts throughout history remain consistent and there's no reason to believe the text was corrupted or changed.
But even then, I don't know why I should trust Smith over Mohammad who actually had his own empire, while Smith got killed in a shootout and the rest of his followers got banished to Mexico.

what makes you think Trump is a "false messiah" ?
He's just a pragmatic businessman turned politician. He has the potential to do good things for the country, and change the direction of politics in the US, win or lose.
Are you taking the "God Emperor Trump" meme seriously or something?

I'm not suggesting he believes that he's the Messiah or even just a naughty boy. But some of the hype surrounding elected officials can be quasi-messianic. Obama is a classic case of quasi-messianic hype dissipating into bitter disappointment

>Yes I've seen people of different faiths whom I would consider 'religious fanatics'.
I'm not talking about religious fanatics.
That's close to but not quite brainwashing.
To be quite honest 1st century Christians probably saw a similar form of brainwashing.
Adamantly believing what you're saying is true is a sing right of the bat. It's always accompanied by volumes of knowledge and examples that support this truth.
Brainwashing isn't any of that MK ultra stuff that you see in the movies. It doesn't involve hypnosis, microchips, not even stockholm syndrome.
It's a method of manipulation that tugs at people's heart strings, it shakes beliefs and induces(or takes advantage of) insecurities and general fears. The subject then becomes malleable, easily trusting, susceptible to suggestion(this tactic can be strengthened through the use of certain chemicals that produce temporary confusion). Then you get to work, you assert yourself as a savior or a wise man and you begin slowly teaching ideas and concepts, carefully tying them together with both strong emotion and reason. You leave small bits to be easily discovered and offer a dopamine reaction (also called an epiphany) and reward correct conclusions.
People don't like to lose. They don't like to be challenged, feel insecure or admit the truth in others' arguments so they do whatever they can to strengthen their current beliefs.
That's brainwashing.
Continued.

I will most definitely! I hope that anon progressed with his study. It's always inspiring to see others approach the Truth with sincerity.

This is not applicable to JWs at all. The process of becoming a JW is all internal. You need to study the Bible. Is the Bible a tool for brainwashing? Honestly, what you describe is the lived experience of probably none of Jehovah's Witnesses.
I have seen some people become let's say overly zealous. A bit Pharisaical. Perhaps even a bit fanatical. But that is a personal choice or in my view reflects something about them. However JWs are a high commitment faith no doubt, like the 1st century Christians, who on the whole (some JWs obviously aren't high commitment, otherwise no one would ever leave. All congregations would have 100% attendance which none in the west ever do) adamantly believed in the truth of their faith.
>People don't like to lose. They don't like to be challenged, feel insecure or admit the truth in others' arguments so they do whatever they can to strengthen their current beliefs.
That's brainwashing.
That's true of almost anything though. Political discussion or any sort of internet based discussion is now an act of reinforcement rather than challenging one's beliefs. I think JWs are far more open to challenge than the majority of hardcore political activists. Aren't some social justice warriors evincing signs of brainwashing?
>>77661448
Yeah unfortunately I was thinking the same thing but Jehovah God sees us fighting for him and that's all we can keep doing
>>77661756
You're welcome
>>77662066
Okay there are some external processes ie the meetings, bible study, witnessing etc. but the actual faith process is a Kierkegaardian leap and all internal. You can't force someone to be a JW, they must choose it. Those who feel forced (by their parents for example) never last.
I really don't think the Codex Astartes supports this brother.
>>77659604
>>77659698
>>77661617
People who've been through that will display certain traits.
Their eyes will be a bit more open and will happily look you in the eye even in a heated debate. They convince themselves that they truly believe and reinforce that with personal convictions.
Their method of speaking is more robotic though heavily optimistic.
They repeat arguments even after being debunked, they avoid losing arguments, and change subjects.
If the debate isn't concluded they will try to continue implying concepts and invite you to believe them more often. Brainwashing feeds of of time and approval of others.
The more people approve the stronger it gets, and it's exhilarating. Brainwashing feels very good and offers plenty of pleasure to the subject through dopamine reward.
If you keep contradicting their belief they will eventually cut off contact with you or keep a distance to protect themselves.
It's a devil of a technique and I know it's being used. These are some of the most immediate signs. Though there are people it just won't work on and people that don't even need it.
I did say that often simple indoctrination is enough.
>>77662066
For example (and sorry for triple posting) the whole idea of 'wise men' etc. is negated by JW teaching. Yes some are worthy of 'double honour' but no ones opinion is worth more than another when it comes to the quality of a person's faith before God. In any case, I reject musty old institutionalization in all its forms. Governing Body members make mistakes just as I do. The local elders make mistakes and some of them are extremely imperfect. I don't take what they say as gospel. Like the Beroeans, we need to use the scriptures as our guide
Acts 17:11
11 Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, examining the scriptures daily, whether these things were so.

>Bible a tool for brainwashing?
Well, I mean kinda'
>Honestly, what you describe is the lived experience of probably none of Jehovah's Witnesses.
This isn't done publicly and it's not easy to see even if it is. Also, like I said, it's not done to those born in the religion or who already have strong desires to be part of it.
>That's true of almost anything though. Political discussion or any sort of internet based discussion is now an act of reinforcement rather than challenging one's beliefs.
You wouldn't believe how common it is, I tell you. I've seen people do it during fucking business negotiations.
I basically get hired to bitch slap my client and tell him he's being played.
>Aren't some social justice warriors evincing signs of brainwashing?
Yes. God yes.
>but the actual faith process is a Kierkegaardian leap and all internal.
Yes, I think that's what causes the dopamine reaction.
I've not had the chance to talk to them in the US, to be fair. and I can't judge you beyond your posts. Though I can't see you going through manipulation so meh.
>>77662390
I've observed something like this in people of a variety of belief systems. I haven't observed this confluence of symptoms in any individual Witness though. Most Witnesses are confident in their ability to debate others. Witnesses are the most external religion there is, in that they challenge their beliefs on a regular basis.
>Their method of speaking is more robotic though heavily optimistic.
I know people like this :)
But doesn't everybody
>They repeat arguments even after being debunked
That can reflect a person's level of educational attainment and knowledge of the specific subject at hand.
Some of the other characteristics you mention are less relevant imo in the internet age. I do think many if not most people show signs of brainwashing in this age, in that people are less open minded than ever. As 2 Timothy 3:1-3 says
"3 But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be ..disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement"
Most 'internet debates' are not a pooling of information, but entrenched views lobbing verbal grenades at one another.
Not that that is what you and I are doing here, but in general terms that is an accurate characterization
>>77647702
All bullshit aside. I once slept with a Mormon girl and then she stopped being my friend. Later she went on mission and now she is trying to be my friend again and convert me to be Mormon.
Planning to read most religious texts in the future even though I have never really cared about such things. (New / Old Testament, Quran & Hadiths, Talmud etc) Just to get an idea of things.
Have considered religion solely for social reasons / networking.
>>77647702
Lesbian couples are the only reason to convert to Mormonism. Hot lesbian couples.
>>77663112
I have seen some whose parents have forced them to come to meetings etc. Who were browbeaten somewhat into getting baptized. They always leave or nearly always. If they stay, it seems generally not because of this but *in spite of this* that they come. Because being a JW is high commitment it must come from the inside to stick. No one will force you to come to meetings as an adult. In a situation in which general sheperding can be lax, the elders are hardly going to be spending lots of their (unpaid) time in chasing those who don't want to be there.
And yes, I have known the odd 'rogue' elder in my time, and I know some of them like to put their own ideas into things. But most of them are being weeded out in my experience.
There is nothing chemical in my attachment to the faith of JWs. There can be a lot of honest toil and time expense though
>>77654277
>JW
>cult
Can someone explain this meme to me? If anything they'd be a sect, but even that can be argued against,
>>77664431
It mostly comes from ex-JWs who are a bit bitter and twisted. Think of antitheists and their descriptions of religious belief as a whole
>>77663201
>>77663893
I get what you're saying. I can't talk for you or your personal experiences and if you can look at the whole thing from a detached point of view and assess that the situation is in fact authentic then I have no real reason to debate that. It's up to you in the end.
>There is nothing chemical in my attachment to the faith of JWs.
That however is untrue for you and every human being claiming that about anything ever.
Dopamine, Seratonin and a few other chemicals are the reason you can even muster up the consciousness to stay away.
From a scientific perspective those are the components of the soul.
I don't recommend you study them unless you're ready to start facing a whole bunch of stupid existential dilemmas.
