CBS doesn't run a 24/7 channel that is included with most television subscriptions, on the off chance they aren't biased, they go right back to bias.

Oh man, those flagpoles on cars are around the country?
I live in a neighborhood which is becoming less and less white. The people moving in are Chinese and Koreans, who are slightly wealthier and generally better behaved than the white people here before. The old time Archie Bunkers first stuck flagpoles on their houses, now their fucking cars have these flagpoles. Pathetic.
>>77621602
24 hours news channels are watched almost exclusively by people over the age of 50 and are bought out by so many different corporate interests you'd have to be retarded to watch, regardless of political affiliation

Get off my board with this sort of anti-intellectual bullshit. Do you honestly think people use lesser-known words to sound smart? Larger vocabularies allow you to use more precision in your speech. There's nothing wrong with that.
And even if it is to sound smarter, that's just a strategy. Republicans today get lampooned by the liberal media for being dumb, (even though their ideas are better) and it's because half of them can't speak beyond a 5th grade level.

How about why does nobody talk like Paul Harvey anymore?

I usually go to the CNN website for American news. Usually they get right to the "a thing happened in place" quick enough, and you can stop reading as soon as you see the inevitable quotes from some random fucker(s) who were nearby.

>Larger vocabularies allow you to use more precision in your speech. There's nothing wrong with that.
In a democratic society in the era of social media, there is plenty wrong with that. Vonnegut talked about how you needed to stick to a seventh-grade reading level to appeal to the masses. With twitter and such, I'd imagine that the general level of discourse has dropped even further.
>And even if it is to sound smarter, that's just a strategy.
Which is why Mencius Moldbug is the current front-runner in the 2016 elections.
>>77621602
Info Wars DOT COM!
>>77624196
I for one prefer Harvard/NCR manners of speaking, but it's a matter of personal taste.
It's the words that count. Paul Harvey is a good example. But Alex Jones? Fox News?
Conservative media today is little more than yelling. They never present fresh arguments, or even find new ways to approach the standard ones. They repeat buzzwords and trite slogans without taking the time to explain the philosophy behind them. The result is that the right gets called insane time and time again, and the country eats it up. The left can package their drivel a bit better, but it's a problem that infests both sides.
Political media should introduce new viewers to an ideology from the ground up if it wants to succeed. A slightly right-leaning centrist is not going to react favorably if people like Alex Jones are the best we have to offer.
>>77621696
CNN is liberal propganda 90% of the time then when a happening happens 10% of the time its that and they harp on it all day
Is this cartoon leftist or does it mock the leftist superiority complex... I can't tell
>>77621602
Young Turks is usually my favorite. They are probably the least bias news outlet compared to the rest.
>>77624974
>With twitter and such, I'd imagine that the general level of discourse has dropped even further.
And you're alright with this?
It's one thing to stick to your slogans to appeal to the masses, but senators and congressmen seem unable to use complex speech even when speaking to other senators and congressmen. At the very least, the people actually involved with government need to be able to communicate well.

>>77625453
That's Horsey for you.
>>77625633
>And you're alright with this?
Not necessarily, it's a pretty good argument as to why democracy doesn't work. It's just that I recognize that unless we just get rid of democracy, we have to accept that this is how the game is played.
>It's one thing to stick to your slogans to appeal to the masses, but senators and congressmen seem unable to use complex speech even when speaking to other senators and congressmen.
Because there's no need to use complex speech there- you're not using the floor to address them, you're using the floor to address the general public and make a speech that looks good on your record.

Because not many people spend a lot of time in both the UK and the Northeast anymore. Plus most people don't care about sounding sophisticated anymore, not even the super rich. Ivanka Trump sort of talks like him.
I love Willy.
