>REMINDER FOR THE 24TH
Counts will get under way when polls close at 22:00 GMT Thursday, 23 June at 382 local centres around the UK. These local results will be declared as the counts are completed before being collated at 12 regional centres, which will also declare the totals for each side. There will be a rolling total so the time at which one side reaches the point of being mathematically unbeatable depends on how quickly the vote are counted and how close the results are running. It is a safe bet that from 4am onwards there should be pretty clear picture of which way the vote is going. A chief counting officer will announce the overall result at Manchester Town Hall. There will be no exit poll.

Be honest, do you consider the possibility of Scotland leaving in the event of Brexit a risk, or a reason to vote Leave?

I think it would be good for both Scotland and for us. While it would be rather embarrassing in the short term, Scotland's departure would provide a cover for any short-term economic effects of Brexit, and when the recovery begins everyone would forget all about it

Also, with 60% of Scots [admittedly declining] identifying mostly as Scottish, on a fundamental battle of identities it would seem like the right thing to do. They are Scottish, I am English. Friends, but not the same people.

Nations deserve nation-states.

They won't be as high as the 5, 6, 7% leads we have seen for Leave in the recent few polls.

I'm thinking Remain will be polling 2 or 3% ahead by June 23. Then it will be down to turnout, which might give an extra 1% to Leave, vs the late swing to the status quo, which might give Remain 3 or 4%, or maybe even 5%

Whether things change after the event waits to be seen. Perhaps Scotland will surprise us and deprive the SNP of an excuse.

I think it's a possibility. Of course, if polling isn't in their favour in the early days after the event despite agitation they'll probably shelve it.

I doubt it. With a 60% primarily Scottish identity in the 2011 census, it's possible they could go further.

I've done several polls in the past few weeks, and I can definitely feel it coming. The ones before leave started gaining momentum simply asked straight up are you LEAVE or REMAIN.

Now, they don't, and ask questions like "What is your opinion of European people?" and "Are you planning to take a European holiday in the next decade?". It doesn't take an idiot to extrapolate what they're doing.

That said, this doesn't mean our support in the polls is understated, getting complacent will lose this. Make sure you vote, and volunteer to drop off leaflets, if you're not a sperg to knock on doors, etc.

Basically, the UK would hold complete and total control over their own government, able to pass their own laws, regulate immigration and protect their sovereignity, they would also enter the worldwide free market which would allow the UK to trade with CHYNA and Rusia, both countries support the UK on BRexit and are just waiting for the UK to leave to pounce.

The EU rapidly collapses because the UK contributes a net (meaning after it recieves grants etc from Europe) £10b to the budget, which is about $14b every year.
What happens immediately afterwards is talks begin on how the exit will go, a clause in the Lisbon Treaty provides for a 2 year gap in which a leaving nation can negotiate terms.
EU Customs Union Tariffs re extremely high so once those Tariffs are escaped the cost of living in Britain shrinks by about 8% and the massive costs of complying with EU regulations are shaken off so British companies become much more competitive while also having access to foreign produce and industrial equipment for a significantly lower price.

You have to remember what is now the EU began as a Franco-German Coal and Steel Cartel.
Atm it exists for one reason only, to prop up French Agriculture and German Manufacturing at the expense of all other Union members.
Ireland managed to jew the system though so we win out on it big time through corporate out-sourcing, but that isnt a sustainable economic model and I would do literally anything to change the dynastic nepotistic political system we have here (plus we can always fuck off to the UK as we have done for generations to escape it)

I'm not very well informed on these two points /pol/, can you help me out:

>Science funding
Is it realistic that after Brexit we can just invest the money we save directly into sciences (as the EU currently provides a massive percentage of its funding)? Will it likely be cut, or are politicians no way going to hit science hard?

>single market
Are Nige and other Brexiteers arguing we should also be outside of any single market agreement? I've heard at least one """"""""""neutral"""""""""" source say that no serious side of Remain or Leave are arguing to be outside a single market because the tariffs would be devastating, and that the EU insists on free movement in any negotiations to enter the single market. Seems to me utterly fucking pointless to be in the single market if we have to continue free movement, so is /pol/ against the single market and are the prominent Brexit campaigners proposing we be outside it too?

The free market represents the entire world, even if the UK is forbidden to enter the european market, China and Russia are waiting to trade with the UK without being subjected to regulations by the EU.

The video you're referencing is complete and utter shit my friend.

"Gives us 10 pounds back in investment, savings, growth and jobs" is complete shit.

> EU regulations INCREASE the prices of goods in this country
> The GDB of the whole bloc hasn't grown WHATSOEVER In the past 10 years
> We pay immensely more to the EU than we get back as "investment"

It's a complete lie.

Have these nerds even heard of the internet and wikipedia?
>>
Ah've been on that internet again right... An' it's always bin a bit wonky annit, always bin a bit weird yeah? But ah givvit another go 'cos like, it's technology and that innit, it's the MODERN AGE, where the marvels and wondrous digital contraptions brought forth by the electronic magicians truly boggle the contents of one's consciousness!

So ah went on there right an' this geezer went to me, ah dunno 'oo it woz coz like his name was "Anonymous," an' I'm pretty sure that wasn't 'iz real name, or if it woz, iz parents must've been on sumfing FUCKING MENTAL...

But anyway ee's come up to me on the internet right, on this site called 4chan which at first glance looks kind of like just a load of pictures an' writing an' that, sort of like a book, but the literary contents are NOT reminiscent of any TOME, VOLUME or PARCHMENT upon which yor 'umble narrator has ever set his gaze... WHERE WOZ I... THIS GEEZER, ee's gone: "'Ere," I sez "Wot," an 'e goes "For you."

I deliberated muchly on this pearl of unbridled wisdom, worthy perhaps of Descartes or else some other philosophical dabbler of his ilk, an' fort to myself "Not this again" coz it must've bin the fifteemf time somebody seddit on there in like ten minutes! Or mebbe it wuz the same geezer I dunno, EVERYONE'S FUCKIN' ANONYMOUS!

So, not one to leave such mysterious verbal fruit dangling before me, ah sed to 'im: "Oi m8, wot's yor fuckin' problem? 4 me? Wot's 4 me?" An this OSCAR WILDE of wit and charm told me to fack off back to Tumblr! I said "Excuse me bravva, I don't meen no disrespect or noffin' but mebbe YOU need to fuck off back to SKOOL, because YOU seem to be in dire desperate NEED of some educational and academical enlightenment!"

I dote know if it was just him callin' me a faggot twenty times, or twenty different Anonymouses, each one calling me a faggot, or some statistical comprisation between the two right, but ah basically got called a faggot twenty times... Not very modern AFTER ALL!

>Single Market
The single market was good when tariffs were big and threatening to trade. Now they aren't so a tariff free zone isn't worth the extra baggage that comes with it.
Countries in the EU sell us more than we sell them. It would damage them more than us if they tariffed us as tariffs work both ways.

What I find sad is that all the political leaders who won our independence were pro-British and wanted a relationship between Ireland and Britain akin to Britain and Canada, but they were all killed off so a theocratic dictator (Eamon DeValera) could be made president for life, who then banned all the parties and organizations associated with the pro-British leaders like Michael Collins, Arthur Griffith and Eoin O'Duffy.

pretty high, there's a growing resentment of the EU all over the continent, the more it pushes for integration the harder the people seem to push back. > ++ Brexit trenches update ++
> ++ Messages starts ++

"Right folks just a quickie. Project Fear dropped the big PR H bomb on us today here in the Brexit trenches but it failed to go off. A dud emergency budget atom bomb but it won't get past the bunker old guard. We are nuke proof. Apparently. Hopefully. We've got it covered anyhow. Which means Project Fear will have to wait until the autumn review mini-budget or the spring budget next year before they can try to bomb us again if we leave the EU and they will fail then too. The UK can leave the EU gently and diplomatically to keep trade alive not abruptly. We know it and so do they. We are STILL STANDING Project Fear, nice try but no cigar. Go ahead, make our bloody day.

We can do this, don't let them scare you UK. We can rule ourselves rather than be ruled from overseas. But the Brexit trenches needs YOUR help brit/pol/ by considering your Vote to Leave next week in the final big push and the Battle for Britain 2 on Thursday June 23rd. Join us chaps and chapettes. Keep your chin up. Brexit trenches over but not out."

It's funny. The considerable majority (and certainly the most vocal of this majority) of the leave, pro-UKIP, pro-NIGE crowd, are swayed by a desire to strive to return to the traditional idea of what Britain was. Meanwhile, all the people who ever made Britain worth a shit - doctors, scientists, explorers, academics, industry leaders and entrepreneurs, engineers and inventors - the vast majority of these people want to stay. This hilariously contorted idea of nationalism is being pushed by plumbers, brick layers, shop workers and professional wetherspoons regulars. Good luck making Britain great again when every professional fucks off to another country and we're left with a country of laborers, doormen and NEETs to lead us to global supremacy.

When most of the clever people tell you to do something, it's probably the right thing to do. When all of the NEETs on /pol/ tell you to do something, it's definitely not the right thing to do.

I was chatting to an Asian guy front the East End. He was Leave. Bunch of Remain students came up, asked us to move so they could drape their banner over the side of the bridge.

Asian guy turned around. "What side are you then", he asked. "Remain", they replied.

"You can jog on then"

It was brilliant. The looks on their faces. They specifically asked him, racially profiling, expecting him to be to be Remain.

A few shuffled along but one guy stayed, shrieking "why are you voting to Leave???!!" as only a leftie could.

"Too many immigrants", he replies calmly. Everyone around burst into laughter, and the Remain lot soon shuffled along. Totally true story, it was terrific.

Bookies are literally only in it for money. They show odds based on what makes them money.

If Brexit seems more likely, the odds will lower. Large bets will also sway the odds, because they have to cover themselves.
