London makes living in the rest of the country absolutely shit, everyone I know including myself who has stayed there is now constantly irritated by the lack of choice, things to do and transport that are in the capital. Its just simply so far developed compared to all of our other major cities that they pale in comparison. The only ones that win it over are the cathedral cities, however they have relatively few opportunities.
Its not until you get past your mid-30's that it becomes too tiring I imagine, unless you've done well for yourself and get in a good area.
I can't wait to move back in a year or so personally. Some areas are shit though

I've lived here most my life and the city being beautiful, in the end, does make up for the people being garbage. People here come and go, very transient existences for the wealthy whites, most live in the suburbs anyways. I don't talk to the blacks unless I have to, the latinos won't talk to you unless you speak to them in spanish (and they pretend not to know english usually), but tripping on shrooms in front of the white house is always fun to do with friends, and I love Rock Creek Park.
