Imagine you had the power to send a message to every single people on your country every week at the condition you can't speak about everything.

Being clever, making compromise, sometimes lying about some of your convictions is necessary because you have an appearence to preserve, that's politics 101: your image is as important as your opinions.
Of you course you can say "fuck it" to all of that when you are an old eccentric billionaire like Trump, you will still have plenty of people gravitating around you, but if you are the average joe in the average environnement and say brutally "black people are globally largely intelectually inferior which explains their chronic underachivements through history and today" it is social suicide, you will be disliked or met deaf ears next time you talk about controversial subjects because people will be scared to be identified "racist" by association.
People will maybe even gang up on you because society and law consider these views as a valid reason to reprimand someone, even brutally.
