However, I think an empty sympathy tweet is absolutely the correct thing to do on day 1. People are not thinking rationally on day 1, they are thinking emotionally.
Appeal to reason in a few days, or a week, or something. Demand action then - action should indeed be taken. It has happened many times, and there is indeed a refusal to call a spade a spade.
