I don't hate the French. I hate their government, and how they've betrayed the French people. I know it sounds silly, but I've heard terrible shit out of France, about how your soldiers are so underpaid or unpaid that they have to go on welfare. Then I see the attacks against you guys, and your government pussing out about it. I mean - you had a French police officer shot dead trying to stop a terror attack, and the very suggestion that some municipal cops carry guns, and your Talking Heads and politicians implode at the concept. Forget having the freedom for the average Frenchman to have the ability to defend *themselves* - allowing Cops the ability to do it is apparently on the same level as stabbing babies.
Historically? France got fucked by their government before both World Wars, with the glacially slow speed at which they adapted to new military theories and technology, leaving France vulnerable. Do you think Hitler would've attacked France, if France showed off a few divisions of Chars and Somuas in a coordinated fashion, that could've pushed their shit in? Mobile firepower instead of static defenses?
The true, patriotic French citizen is worthy of praise. Their politicians, the guillotine (at least, the guillotine of public shame).
I think France is cool. Paris was cool up until WW2, french toast is still delicious, as are several types of french cheese, and there's that alizee who was hot a few years ago, and finally french men are great dancers.
