Typical discussion
> t. Atheist: God is immoral because he killed people
> Okay let's discuss concepts of justice and deserved punishment.
> t. Atheist: W-wait let me rephrase that God is immoral because he killed innocent people
> Again let's look into this, the cultures the Israelites warred against sacrificed children and in other cases enabled what we would call acts of terrorism or malevolence--
> t. Atheist: Wait, wait I meant God is immoral because he has killed innocent children and babies
> Hmm so what do you think about abortion?
> t. Atheist: N-no what I really meant was that God is immoral because he killed innocent babies that would not have met our secular based criteria for death.
People like this are essentially arguing the position that the individual, or a secular state, not God, should be the ones who decide when the death of an innocent child or person is acceptable.
This is with consideration of the presupposed fact of the argument that the God being argued against is as traditionally conceived, and therefore by definition would be the only being of the aforementioned, with all the facts or most of the facts available and would be the one with the closest possibility to making an objective judgement.
