The fedora stereotype is definitely true of the alt-right. The young republicans at my highschool were the stereotype before it was a meme even. Basically they rebelled against their parents with Nietzsche & atheism but understood that the conservative movement was protecting their fragile delusional world (white suburban family) the fedora type is more or less a reactionary-- over reacting to social changes which have already become the norm..the absurdity and humor comes from their sincere impotence
