But the scale and causes of these deaths are extremely overplayed.

As others have said it seems the numbers and facts havn't been accurately told. Also the history books are basically teaching that Hitler just went on some mad unfounded reason for persecution of the Jews when it's an absolute fact that the Jews had turned Germany into a Marxist hell hole and Berlin into the capital of sin. Now I'm not saying this justifies the mass murder of Jews, but how can we learn the lessons of history if we're not taught that the Jews have a history of being persecuted and banished from society because of the fact they have pushed every vice in society.

I think the numbers are exaggerated as well, I was kind of disappointed in Bill Whittle when he talked about the Nazis killing babies and shit at Treblinka, this is coming from Soviet sources, where the Russians are saviors etc. But talk to old Germans who were there when the Russians came through, and you have the same shit happening, women getting raped, and babies getting their skulls crushed in, but they don't get as much shit, they were not saviors, they killed lots of people.

Plenty of things are not to be freely discussed in European societies.. Most of us are not governed by the first amendment or something similarly strongly worded. Laws against certain kinds of expressions were common in Europe in the '40s and before, and even now.. Holocaust denial is typically punished under 'normal' hate speech/offensive expression laws.. If they were really meant to stop people from speculating they would be much more widely used. half of euro/pol/ would be in prison.
Also, note it's typically new worlders eho deny it.. It must all seem pretty haed to believe if you don't know anyone or anything that got rekt by the German war machine besides perhaps your drafted grandpa.
