Handgun or rifle first? I already have a shotgun gifted from my dad (I've been shooting all my life but I've never made it a point to buy/own my own firearms because my dad and uncle had plenty to shoot).
>>
>>76590124
Handgun if you've already got a shotgun. You'll need a concealable.
>>

What kind should I get?

Rifle is prefered, but a pistol will do just fine.

A rifle can be used to hold off men from a farther distance, but a pistol can be concealed.

The choice is yours.

If you're going for your first gun, get a Mosin Nagant. It's a reliable, cheap, efficient and accurate rifle. Your average Mosin won't be over $250, you can get some as cheap as $100. You can buy a couple hundred rounds and a scope for it very easily. Now you're officially an armed citizen.

>>76590312
If you don't care about complying with our oppressive gun laws just build an AR with whatever you want.

Key is to get an 80% lower and mill it out yourself, there are plenty of guides on the internet and youtube.

I'm building an AR and putting whatever the fuck I want on it from parts I got on the internet, I have 30 round mags from my days in the Muhreens and bought gear from military surplus stores, I don't need any thing fancy and I know what works.

Only issue for us now will be ammo of they pass these new laws, they want to be able to track ammo buyers.

Fuck the government and fuck Commiefornia

yeah, just like when obama was elected in 08
Oh wait, I'm still alive.
Or when he opened up the fema death camps, and confiscated my guns.
Oh wait, that never happend, AND I'm still alive.
Or how about when you guys screamed armed revolution every 15 minutes when he got in office?
Oh wait, nothing happened, and I'm still alive.

Either you are a whackjob, or you own a gun store. And this is how you boost your sales up. It has to be one or the other. It can't possibly be anything else.

So I ask again, why am I being told to get a gun this time? What is the irrational reactionary reason this time?

Bad news my Calibros. Kamala Harris is going for the Senate and it looks like she has a "shot".
The problem with this cunt whore bitch is that:
1) She was for banning handguns in San Francisco. Residents would have to hand in their handguns with no compensation, or move out of the city.
2) As DA of Frisco, she let tons of Murder cases go to lesser charges because she was too busy or some bullshit.
3) Made the Peruta v. San Diego County en banc so it would take for fucking ever for California to become Shall Issue for concealed carry.

Basically she wants to disarm whitey and surround us with violent criminals that are her brown friends. Fuck her.

the better question is, how will a rifle serve you better than a shotgun, especially in matters of self defense
>>
>>76592207
You should be able to buy a pump shotgun there right? I'd go with that as a first buy, preferably one with marine/nickelcoating for rust resistance.

Im pretty sure you can own an SKS in Cali too, also solid but not as resistant to rust with the blued barrel. But with good rifleman habits you ought to be able to avoid that with lubrication of all metal surfaces. Plus the aftermarket is decent for the SKS.

Or Mosin, meh.

Right, and this guy is talking about home defense in East LA. Not a lot of wide open spaces there, especially not in your home. Go with the shotgun. Easier to hit with, easier to use, and there are stories of burglars/home invaders running at just the sound of a shotgun being racked. If home defense is your goal, shotguns are really hard to beat.
>>
>>76592851
>Can guns be sent through the mail?
Absolutely not. If it's your gun being kept at his house because you felt you didn't have a secure place to store it, but now you do, then you're in the clear to go get it. Just make sure you're either flying, or your route home with it only goes through states with 'peaceable journey' laws, look it up.

Hazmat equipment is literally the biggest waste of money

The only thing you need is a 3m mask like pic related and some goggles to make it through tear gas.

If there is a time where you need a full face mask, then you will need a hell of a lot more equipment to actually save yourself which is going to take up too much room in a bag and not be portable at ALL.

guns can be sent through the mail, but can only be mailed to licensed FFLs. usually, you can pay an FFL to receive firearms for you.

now then, you can receive every piece of an AR except for the lower receiver in the mail, because only the lower is considered a firearm by law.

He bought it from a shop for $300 when he was in better times. He has bad money management skills, worked out for me though.
>>
You can buy a maverick 88 12 gauge for $200 out the door. No excuses boys. Get 100 rounds of target shot for $20 dollars, then get some buckshot, and some slugs. All that will come out to under $300 and will be enough for several hours of combat, and enough to bring down some game if need be. Also, having 1 gun is infinitely better than no gun.
>>
>>76590124
A pistol is for fighting your way to a rifle. Pistols are nice for concealment, but they are not actually that good at killing people. There is a reason cops shoot people like fifteen times in a firefight.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3PAHu-5-aUM&itct=CBsQpDAYASITCO2Azpmfms0CFVhnfgodsPEJNTIHcmVsYXRlZEid_o3C04eu3HI%3D.
If you do choose a rifle build your own it's way cheaper. You can put together a basic AR for 500 bucks. If that's too much get a Stevens 12 gauge. If you have to go ultra poorfag high points work they are just bulky and don't put up with long term abuse. I would go with a makarov or any good used surplus service pistol should do as long as you inspect it properly before you buy it.

I ain't saying a rifle is not a necessity,
but it doesn't solve all the problems in the world at a time when you'll find most use for your rifle.

Its likely the same type of people that have/will attack you have already taken out other people elsewhere.
Those people contribute to providing the essentials in life, which you now might find a shortage of.

Spinta blem bolt $109
Wilson Arms barrel $109
upper receiver $45
buffer tube kit $50

rail $70-$100

The most expensive part is the mag block/receiver. I was originally going to use a HAHN mag block they are $200. Then i decided to go with a Glock dedicated lower since it was the same price.

Should come out costing about $700ish

CONGRATULATIONS

You now have an untraceable firearm that's totally LEGAL*! Take pride in knowing you've manufactured a gun in your very home.

But we're not done yet, the fun has just begun. Now you can assemble your rifle however you'd like!

Good, the only correct answer.

Anything that has to go through an FFL is permanently logged in their bound book which is required record keeping by the ATF. While not a registry per se, since it's not filed with or kept by state or local government, it is a record of transactions and you can be guaranteed in any sort of happening, every FFL will have their books examined by the ATF.

Free float barrel helps with accuracy due to less interefence with the barrel and in turn barrel whip.
Carbine is typically better for shorter barrels, lighter BCGs, and for .300BLK caliber.
Mid is better for longer barrels and heavier/MIL spec BCGs.
Preferably, unless you plan to be indoors a lot clearing rooms with it, just get a mid length or full length barrel assembly and gas system.
Unless you're going to use .300BLK, then stick with your only option of Carbine length gas system and carbine or SBR barrel

Falling this hard for the ARs are useless past 50m meme.
I dropped sandniggers out to 300m in the Stan with an M4 carbine and EOTech 552 holo.
Eat shit and die.
It's all about practice, and realistically you won't be engaging targets beyond 150m in 99% of engagements.
Fuck you rarely engage targets beyond 75m.
Most engagements, especially in urban/population centers are within 50m, and they're usually very high paced and end abruptly. And in mountainous areas it's usually within 75-100m due to terrain and vegetation
This isn't CoD nigger.

get a 22 rifle if you are that scared

its almost like an air rifle, i have a 22 air rifle and it kicks about as much as a 22

The Ruger 10/22 is recommended alot

Also get a 9mm hangun, try a glock out, very popular

Go take a firearms safety course, have someone sit down and show you everything they know about guns, study about the different parts of a gun

Know the 4 basic safety rules, know about how calibers work, and how different actions work

Learn about guns, they are not scary, they are fun, alot like how different cars are fun.

10mm has a lot of fans for good reason, and glock are fine pistols as far as auto's go.
Ugly as shit imo, but they work well, they're reliable, and they don't break the bank.

Revolvers, I'd recommend 357 mag, though you can go for some real fucky calibers like 500, 45-70 etc etc.
38 spec is also a decent round, don't expect it to go through level 2 body armor though. 44 mag is also ok.

45 lc, 357 sig, 45 gap, 40 s&w and anything lower than 40 that isn't 9mm in an automatic is a meme.
Some of them are cool to shoot, most are outperformed in ballistics by 9,10, and 45.

This.

Also, remember than virtually all shotguns are NOT drop safe. If you want to store it for quick action, it's best to either pull the trigger on an empty chamber (to release the slide) then load it, or keep it fully loaded but out of battery, so that an ND (if possible out of battery) would just be the primer detonating or a very low-pressure burn.

Officers these days are faggots that get people killed unless they're told to stfu and listen to the NCOs when downrange.
Enlist, do four to six years and get your degree during that time or have it prior, then go green-to-gold and be an O1E non-faggot Butterbean that doesn't make it a habit of making pleb class fucktard decisions to make your ORB look better and actually make a good impact on the lives of your joes.
And when you enlist, you don't have to be a grunt, but go to RASP and get into 75th RR like a man for your enlisted experience so you can take some actual training and combat knowledge to your joes when you're a Commissioned Officer.

Preferably get college done with a BS first, then do your 4 year enlistment then go green to gold.
It will be smoother that way. Doing college while active is doable, but it is advisable to try to get it finished prior to enlistment. That way as soon as you meet criteria for TIS to be eligible for the G2G program you can just drop the packet and jet a few months later.
Then a year or two later depending on your career course etc. You'll be commissioned and at a unit as an officer.
