The problem is, most people are familiar with, and follow with the utmost zealotry, the most distilled and corrupted versions of religions.

Well, all religions are just a retelling of the same story from the perspective of its original followers. If you're white, probably Christianity is the best option for you because Jesus has made a covenant with us and is basically our greatest ally.

Funny you mention it, there's a story in Hinduism where Krishna (avatar of Vishnu) is killed by a poison arrow to the foot like Achilles. Some say it's a religious motif dating before the PIE languages diverged.

Also the sky god motif of christianity is particularly European in nature. Ju(piter) and Zeus(pater) is basically the 'father'. Huh...makes ya think doesn't it.
