What do you think constitutes being a Catholic or, more broadly, a Christian?
I call myself a Catholic.
I believe in God, but not the same God in the Bible. I believe the Bible is mostly horseshit, including the New Testament. I appropriate aspects of eastern religions into my core beliefs. I think the Pope is a false pope and a communist plant, plus a major faggot.
I call myself a Catholic because I believe in the ideals that Catholicism preaches and believe it to be the best religion and the best hope to save western civilization.
I love my fellow Catholics, I love my fellow Christians.

If you can recite the Nicene Creed and believe every word of it, you're a Christian. If you can't, you aren't.

You don't seem to care at all about Catholicism, but like the mystique, label, and structure of the Catholic church, while putting your own spin on its message.
It's not like it matters, as each person worships in their own way, but it seems to me you just like certain aspects of the church, rather than the religion itself.

Religion is in its way a corruption of worship and poorly understood by I believe even supposedly the holiest among us; it is established as an institution which is a human construct by which man derives power over other men, and if no man is superior to another and all men are equal, then even the leader of the church is justly questioned and challenged by any other man and has no right to claim authority over another man's worship.

I think the church has, as it has been previously, basically been corrupted and overrun with mutants.
I don't believe that following the teachings of the church is in any way an essential aspect of being a true Catholic (or maybe Christian is more appropriate term) because I believe the church, as a worldly institution, is an inherently flawed and corruptible institution and is thus not fit to rule over me or do anything but provide a framework by which I may learn the Word and thus God.
Similarly, I get that the Bible is a bunch of hooey because I know it's written not directly by God but by man and often written (at the very least, in the NT) reactively.
I'm also pretty confident that God is cool with me not kneeling to a communist like Francis or worshipping as absolute truth the stories written by early Christians far after the death of Jesus, so long as I understand the principles of Christianity not in worship of divinity (which is only a way to justify one's superiority over another to convince Untermenschen not to fuck sheep or worship trees) but rather in the context of how to most effectively worship God, which is to live productively and be your own kind of angel to the people in your life and the people in need because YOU are the only way God can exist in the world.
