>Hillary clinton will not have the requisite number of pledged delegates
t. Bernie Sanders

DOHOHOHOHO

Let's review, shall we?

All of the numbers below are WITHOUT superdelegates. Let's pretend they don't exist.
So here goes:

Number of pledged delegates needed to clinch the nomination: 2,026.

Current number of pledged delegates held by Hillary: 1,776.

If Hillary only wins 236 delegates from California (= less than half), that puts her at 2,012 delegates.

Which is only 14 shy of the target of 2,026 pledged delegates.

She has about 5 states left from which to get 14 more pledged delegates.

Sanders is either a liar or a complete moron.

http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/election-2016/delegate-targets/
>>
>>76266828
The argument is that even without the enstablishment tipping the scales, Hillary still leads sanders on raw votes alone.

Their only hope is that the entire democratic party leadership suddenly abandons in entirety Hillary in favor of Sanders, and tips the scale in his favor instead.
>>
>>76260690
Cenk sucks, but he's not wrong here.
>>
>>76266828

>>76267335
I'm using only the pledged delegates, not the superdelegates.

WITH the superdelegates the target is 2,383.

WITHOUT the superdelegates the target is 2.026.

In other words; once Hillary gets 2,026 PLEDGED delegates, Sanders doesn't have a leg to stand on, since this number has nothing to do with superdelegates.

And Hillary WILL get 2,026.
>>
>>76267391

>>76264405
I have been to several democratic functions. I have YET to hear anyone give a motivational pep talk about voting for Clinton without mentioning that she has a vagina and you need to consider how brave that is.

>>76267019
Sanders would continue to run if he had money and was polling at 3%. He started his campaign as a meme. He has been wanting the USA to deal with all the shit they've put off for decades. He's getting 45% of the vote right now. He is not going to fucking stop until the floor vote and he is going to use all of that momentum and political capital to force democrats to take a stand on his issues if they want his support.

>>76267457
With or without, the number needed is 2383 and it does not occur until the end of July. I don't know what kind of retarded math they teach you over there.
>>
>>76267557
>With or without, the number needed is 2383
No.

You cannot count and discount superdelegates at the same time.

Once Hillary gets 2,026 pledged delegates, she has the majority of pledged delegates.

At this point, the ONLY way for Bernie to win is to have almost all of the superdelegates.
Which would be undemocratic as fuck, and exactly what Bernie is accusing Hillary of right now.

We are in agreement. She has the majority of pledged delegates. She does not have the majority of delegates.

Sanders is in it to win it with a shitty system. He has repeatedly advocated its abolition. He is still going to advocate the superdelegates do exactly what they are already doing which is fucking everything up. He is making the case that the democrats will lose and lose fucking hard if they fuck Sanders over. And they will. Sanders may be a cuck but his supporters will riot if the democratic party does exactly what everyone expects.

In addition to all that, it's become very clear that Clinton allowed the entire planet access to her emails where she chatted about active CIA agents in the field, as well as every other negotiation and internal communication to her email as Secretary of State. The FBI and CIA will not let it go that she let their coworkers die because she couldn't be fucked to learn how to use a new phone
>>
>>76266630
Hillary has not raised more money than Sanders.
>>
>>76267944
>She does not have the majority of delegates.

The only delegates remaining are the superdelegates.
Doesn't it make perfect sense that the person with the majority of pledged delegates (i.e. obtained quasi-democratically) gets the majority of (completely undemocratic) superdelegates?

I'm telling you, once Hillary gets 2,026 pledged delegates, Bernie doesn't have a leg to stand on.

Still hope he kicks up a shitstorm though, that would only up the odds of Bernie going 3rd party or otherwise damaging the Dems with division.

Did anyone else notice that all the anti-Bernie shilling started right after the NY debate where Bernie said he wouldn't blindly support Israel?
>>
>>76268088
Listen waffle, I just explained this to you.

-majority pledged delegates =/= majority delegates

-The convention is in July. It is not July. Superdelegates at this point literally had a questionnaire where they circled they would maybe yeah sure vote for Clinton. Over 400 of them did this in the year 2015 before a single citizen voted in any state. It has no bearing on anything right now.

-Superdelegate votes are hidden. You can not see who they vote for.

-Superdelegates change their vote all the fucking time

-Superdelegates are elected party officials and other major roles within the Democratic party. They are persuaded by different arguments than the public.

-One of the arguments made is that Clinton is fucking going to jail.

-Another is that Clinton has so much fucking baggage that there is no way she will survive the general election

-Another one is that she will LOSE to Trump according to polling.

-A final one is that Sanders has been pulling 20,000+ people to rallies with only 72 hours notice. We had less than 24 hours notice for the one near me. Most of the people showed up because they saw it on the morning news and rushed over to it. This enthusiasm is fucking GONE if they do not work with Sanders' views. Even if Sanders agrees to help Clinton without anything in return, his supporters will not. In fact, they will likely riot. 30,000 are already claiming to show up to protest outside the Democratic Convention because they do not think Sanders was treated fairly. It's going to be a fucking shitshow.
>>

>>
>>76268505
Bernie's problem is with the superdelegates.

But even if you completely ignore the superdelegates, Hillary WILL get the majority of pledged delegates.

And at that point, it's perfectly normal that she gets the majority of superdelegates too.

And she is projected to win Cali according to the polls, so the odds of her getting about half are pretty good.

Wtf does he think the presidency is.. some kind of diversity contest? There's been several female presidents in the world, it's no fucking global milestone whatsoever. And this election is a bit more important than that.. And quite frankly choosing a president should NEVER be about it having to be a different ethnicity or a diferent gender or whatever.. It should be about competence only.

This is what i hate about leftists they think everything has to be a different hue or color or nuance every single year. And treat politics and these things as if they were interior decorating their home or something, it's nuts.. I'm guess that guy is a homosexual or a massively effeminate guy atleast.

Ah you're catching on here, that's exactly what trump has complained about with regards to a brokered convention if he hadn't gotten 1237 delegates to make him presumptive nominee.. They could've done the same to him..

Then they have a convention since there's no clear winner where the RNC or DNC then decide which will be RNC nominee and the DNC decides which will be best DNC nominee..

Trump has been complaining about that this system is clearly broken since they were trying to remove delegates from him to stop him from getting 1237 but he got it and so they dropped out....

DNC has the super delegates so even if sanders won certain primaries hillary got the delegates.. and GOP has a similar system.

Thankfully for trump he is the presumptive nominee. But bernie and hillary is still kind of undecided so they might enter a brokered convention.

>prides itself on democracy
America is a constitutional REPUBLIC with inalienable rights bill of rights and the constitution and a centralized government that has SOME democratic systems..

It's very different than an actual democracy. In that in an actual democracy 51% can vote away the rights of 49% in a constitutional republic, there are certain rights that you can't vote away no matter if 80% of the people wants to. For instance freedom of speech.. It's a safeguard against tyrranical government and mob rule.

The political parties are just different in the US.. it's a private party so they have their own guidelines who they accept as nominee. But in general they accept that who people vote for in the primary gets the delegates of each state and thus becomes the presumptive nominee.. but there's a certain treshhold that you have to get the majority of the delegates, otherwise you end up in a brokered convention where the party then can decide whom they wish to give the delegates to, it's this that is kind of corrupt and problematic since it should go to whoever got the most delegates during the primaries.. not be able to be shuffled around like that.. because otherwise why even bother with the primaries if the peoples votes don't mater.

The nominee then goes to the general election against the opposing parties candidates..

You might argue that america could do with more parties than gop dem and independent ticket. But don't pretend that the US is a full on democracy.
>>
>>76260690

>>
>>76276860
Even in the general election, we don't vote for the nominees. We vote for electors to go vote for us.

It's a bit screwy, but not without its merits. In my opinion, the bigger problem is that the federal government has assumed way to much power so that the more directly democratic counterbalances of state and local government are no longer functioning as the tools that they should be.

They don't care. The establishment Democrats are like the establishment Republicans: they would rather lose with an establishment backed candidate than win with a populist upriser.

The only reason Trump is turning this on its head is that the Republican party was stupid enough to write down all of its rules and not have any safeguard like superdelegates in there to actually stop a smart populist like Trump. If Trump doesn't successfully take over the party this time, rest assured the Republican establishment will have similar override mechanisms for the next nomination.

Benie doesn't have a snowball chance in the sun against trump in the general that poll is ridiculous especially when trump starts on him..

It's the reason why he cancelled the debate vs bernie, he decided against destroying bernie right now, if bernie can possibly take the nomination from hillary trump has an easier time against bernie than against hillary Not that he will have any problems against hillary but against bernie much easier..
And he doesn't want hillary to have any chance of being president if he can help it.. It's why he has been propping up bernie in his recent campaign rallies over the last month or so saying that bernie is right about trade, but can't do anything about it.. and bernie is right about saying hillary has bad judgement, and bernie keeps winning but crooked hillary gets the super delegates etc. and that this is unfair etc.

Ding ding ding. This is the root of all problems in our country. The federal government should only be responsible for foreign policy and brokering trade/disputes between states. It may be less "efficient" to potentially have 50 ways of doing things across the nation, but greater state autonomy is the only thing that assures the average citizen a greater say in the politics which directly affects them. It's because they lost hard one year
That's why it exists

You guys don't really have personalities in your parties but here in America it's common for leaders to rise and opposition and change to occur within parties
That happened one year with the dems and they broke their party in half ensuring a loss

Also more than two parties don't work in America
You have to get the majority of electoral votes in order to become potus
This is why it would be bad if for example both Trump and Bernie went third party

It would then mean that the Senate gets to decide the potus because no one would get enough votes in that scenario
It's also why you're more likely to see a party dramatically change than be replaced by a new party

>immigration

Depends on what you mean, although it definitely falls under "foreign policy" by inherently involving foreign nationals.

>illegal immigration

Federal government works in conjunction with state and local authorities to prevent it and arbitrates in disputes between states regarding the issue (e.g. two states bordering Mexico, one thinks the other is not pulling its weight.) I imagine deportation would be more of a federal realm thing, since it involves expulsion of a foreign national to their home country.

>legal immigration and residency

States should have more control; set their own quotas. Federal responsibilities would involve interstate residency switches (e.g. legal resident of NY wants to move to VT where there may be different standards). Legal residents who commit crimes may have their status revoked and then fall under the above category.

>naturalization and citizenship

This should definitely be a federal matter; one standard for American citizenship prevents one state having lax requirements and granting citizenship to undesireables.

>taxation

The Federal government has responsibilities which I feel necessitate it being able to levy taxes to support itself. However, economics is not my strong suit and I don't want to make statements that I can't back up or support. It'd ideally be minimal, since a smaller fed needs less funding.

>>BUT DONT YUO THINK ITZ COOL BECAUSE BAGINA?
This is his own fucking tactics being used against him. It's justice. He already pulls this identity politics shit every Trump story but gets mad when people do it to attack Bernie.

there is a TYT video where one of the TYT creators is in some other country through skype saying Sanders can't obtain a realistic victory.

The TYT people didn't just treat this guy as "that's confomist reasoning that helps what the establishment sets as possible and impossible", it was straight up cult shit where they insulated themselves further in and attacked the evil outcast traitor.

I was really hoping his face would start melting

He posted proofs. Here:
It's just that I think Turkish ISPs block the proofs so you can't see them. It's literally all over the internet

>Last time they voted in a historic Nigger. You all see how well that worked out for everyone, RIGHT?
>>
>>76261905
fuck off shillary, you vote because of "historical first time", and not of political facts. Dumb people like you are the true winner in a democracy.
>>

I really don't like The Young Turks but CNN just went Full Retard.

Biggest piece of shit network in America,

also
>she will be the first female nominee
>how dare someone else partake in the race!

>why are you making supporters hope for their candidate to win
>just acknowledge the historic moment!

no his arguement was it was rigged from the beginning because of muh super delegates being shown
>>
>>76286783
That's how the delegate system works though.

Remember how those unbound delegates Cruz managed to get on his side also counted?

You can't call CNN false journalism when you're a TYT piece of shit. That's probably the most hypocritical thing I've seen all day.

Cenk is a lying sack of dishonest shit, and he's also entirely correct on this particular issue.
>>
muh Female candidate

that's what it was all about from the beginning. They don't care that she might actually lose the election.
>>
>>76260690
Somebody tell Cenk to blow the lid off the Money Printing Scheme. Sanders is not (at least on the surface) opposed to blowing the lid off that either.

Get Cenk to talk about mass immigration in the context of exploitation of cheap labor. If he has the guts for that conversation.

I suspect Cenk knows the score in more ways than one and is afraid for his career and life if he talks too loud about it.

LMAO, TYT deleted my comment about having to vote for Trump if they legitimately want to fix a broken political election system. Looks like The Young Kikes are going to be voting for Shillary after all.
