Liberal asshole from BBC Earth tries to make a case for why monogamy isn't "natural". His argument uses the fact that from an evolutionary standpoint, the only reason gorillas pair-bond is that it keeps other males from killing the children. The implication is that since infanticide isn't an issue in society today that we should accept polyamory as the norm.
I think his evidence makes a more convincing argument that the children of single mothers should be slaughtered. If I knew I could rid women of their baggage when we begin mating I'd actually consider dating them.

Monogamy isn't that old in humans, but it certainly works. Anything but monogamy wouldn't really work today though as we are no longer smaller tribes that can look after each others' children.
