My point is 90% of the work force was once Farmers. Then technology took out a shitload of the gruntwork and people found work doing other things, there wasn't permanent unemployment thanks to tractors.

Without a doubt there will be problems in 34 years, but it's absurd to think anyone can predict what those problems will be. Now after that CGP Grey video everyone is worrying that robots are gonna take their jobs.

The world changes and no one has a crystal ball into the future. Malthus and Nostradamus couldn't guess dick and neither can you.

The next wave of technological unemployment will be something we have never witnessed and is not even remotely comparable to the farming automation

Standards are just going to rise again and markets will become even more specialized. Also you can't automate creative innovation.

It's a shame China's 1 child policy was so demonized.

It seems unlikely that the world will ever realize that it is the most humane, direct answer to today's biggest problem.

>/pol/ doesn't want policies designed for a world with technologies that don't exist yet

Humans are remarkable because we have two distinct sources from which we can add value to the economy, our strength and our intellect.

Manual labor jobs were all but eliminated during the industrial revolution as we built machines that can do the jobs of hundreds or thousands of laborers.

This was easily skirted because we were able to start training humans to use their intellect to add value to the economy instead of the manual work most humans were demanded to use before.

This technological revolution will start replacing intellectual jobs with machines that can suddenly do the work of hundreds of thousands of white color laborers. Everything from lawyers to engineers to accountants to marketers to stock market traders will become obsolete. There is nothing we can train the future generations of laborers to do that machines cannot already do. We have made ourselves extinct.
