I would. I the valley it's not that hard to get $250K a year in compensation. So you also consider other things. Like free food. Or concierges to take care of shit for you.
It's also a good business move. The more your employees are dealing with daily bullshit (like cleaning clothes, finding food, etc.) the less they focus and work.
MS used this to great effect. Redmond was not much of a place - quiet residential. So between not having anything around, and having MS offer everything to live there (showers, food, etc.) they'd get smart young guys to work all the time.
