I served 11 years active duty. In that entire time I met just one black man I respected. I was a liberal until living and working with minorities. I have endless stories of nigs nigging.
The one good one I met was named Walker. He hated what he called niggers. Anytime they would start acting chimpish, he would put them in their place. He was an E-6 like me and a fairly big dude so he had the authority and physical presence to do it. I would often hear him berate them for being the reason nobody respects blacks and so forth. I personally witnessed him beat the shit out of one for stealing and choked one for saying that I was racist for telling one to get to work.
I fuckin loved that guy. We got to be good friends. He stayed in and I got out. We still keep in touch and meet up once a year.
