Why can't we? If it was 100% voluntary it would be a spectacle the World over would watch. Funneling insane amounts of money in that frees the tax payer of the binds of upkeeping the expensive prison system and allows victims to see their attackers pay in blood if they enter the ring.

There are tons of violent criminals that never seen the inside of a prison out today. Releasing a few back with the means to not commit more crimes and eyes on their back doesn't harm anything.
