Well, they are dumb enough to think socialism and communism is a viable economical and cultural form of governance so yes, expecting them to act rationally is a bit too high of an expectation. Bernie does not have the Dem nomination and he doesn't even attack nor call Clinton on her problems and yet they wonder why he is and or has lost.

I think the feelings they're having are legitimate, but misplaced/misdirected. These are the people who might not be able to articulate exactly what is wrong, but know something is and are angry about it, providing fodder for memesters to direct that anger in any way they please.

Trump said he would only do a debate if there was
1) a certain amount of money that would be paid to Trump for charity
2) a network willing to set aside millions to host the event
No network agreed, so the deal was dropped, since there's no way they're just going to do this without hosting it on air
The Bernie People don't know how to win. Which I guess is to be expected from a bunch of people who want other folk's shit.
Bernie people- When your candidate has his ass sitting at home in November, you will have an opportunity to reevaluate why he couldn't bring up the emails, or why he focused more on Trump instead of the person schlonging him in the primary.
Bernouts only heard the words they wanted to and ignored everything else
Then they turned that into a promise to themselves

Basically they don't see Hillary as a real candidate, in their hubris they always assumed that the race would be Trump vs Bernie and they still think they've won, even as Hillary cruised to victory after victory they just assured themselves that the next round of primaries would be favorable to them. In short they think they might as well just start attacking Trump since they already beat Hillary in their minds, it's sort of like how we don't talk about Jeb! anymore, the difference being that we actually beat Jeb! That's why they think Trump "chickened out" even though Trump just came to the conclusion that it was a waste of his time like Hillary did.
