If you go back further, Hoover, Coolidge, Harding, and Taft were all shit presidents. Eisenhower and Roosevelt were about the only two good leaders from the republicans.

Given I wasn't alive when he was in office, my understanding was that he was another "deregulate & small-government" guy which was a fantastic failure leading into the great depression and did little to prevent the Nazi rise (although this might be lauded by /pol/).
