First time in Germany today. Have a connecting flight to Kiev. Went out of the airport to explore. The people are awesome. Got all sorts of free stuff like coffee, keychain, just because they see that im travelling. People here look you in the eye and acknowledge and even smile when walking by, etc. Its pretty crazy compared to USA. Not sure why people here dislike Germans. There are quite a few Arabs from what I saw taking the train around. But overall very pleased with German people.
Is it true that Germany (and I guess Western Europe) looks and feels like the American Pacific Northwest?

Actually Frankfurt is one of the most crime ridden cities in Germany, these days.
But there are still decent people around.

I didnt wander away from public places since i was alone.

Good idea - Frankfurt still is not Detroit, but things really took a nose dive, during the last years.
And the invading muslim hordes did not better things.
But you can still find a lot of the typical hessian openess and welcoming there.
I served there during my time in the army.

Half of those are rental cars. You can tell these by the "M" on the numberplate and the black paint job.
